I need to replace my engine mounts on my 05 RL. How many mounts do we have on this car. The dealer said 6. I just want to make sure I'm not being ripped off.

 

Three engine mounts. Front, side, and rear.

And I believe there are three transmission mounts; upper, lower and rear. some one correct me if i'm wrong

 

Yes sir you are rite. I allready changed 5 of the 6 mounts on my 05 RL. 3 motor and 3 tranny mounts. The only one left for me to do is the rear motor mount. The mounts aren't that bad to change. You just gotta take it easy and try not to get aggravated

 

Do these mounts have hydraulic fluid in them. And do I need to connect a vacuum line to it, to pump the hydraulic fluid into the mount.

 

^the lines are right next to the mounts...and I believe only the front and rear need to be hooked up.

or you can buy aftermarket "stiffer" mounts that forego the hydraulic lines and you can plug the lines up
