'05 RL AFS light.
I have an 05 RL that the afs light comes on as soon as the lamps are turned on. No codes currently and rear sensor is fine. Seems like a hard fault to be, should be a code. I looked around here for the manual and found a few links but when I download the body electrical section there isn't anything in it other then some basic 07 stuff.
Where is the section on the AFS system?
Thanks

No, it doesn't function when the warning light is on. Last week when the light was intermittent, when ever the AFS light wasn't lit the self check sweep functioned as designed.
Anyone one the manual section for the AFS system?

Wow. same here. Well, are you certain the rear left sensor is ok by removing it, unscrewing it apart and checking inside it?
In my case, one resistor was gone. But also the black semi circle around the circuit board, you know the one that usually is drawn on circuit board using acid i think etc.. that is scrapped off on some point to a thin line remaining.
I replaced the resistor with a pencil string, just to try, and now my AFS light no longer blinks, it just goes on once the headlights kick in, and stays on no blinking. Goes out once headlights are off.
My bulbs are new. I have difficulty believing it's the ballast. My conclusion thus far has been to find a cheaper sensor online (see other threads on main page - scroll down) and replace it, and see what happens before i start swapping harnesses across headlights.
I'm also not liking spending 150 bucks on a sensor, without the brackets, that may not last, and the original costing 300 I think.,.. hence my indecision.

The rear sensor isn't the problem in this case. I opened it up and checked it with a meter. We all know what they look like when salt water has gotten inside..
I'm I the only one that can't find the service manual on AFS?

You can always try this: Aftermarket AFS Sensor
I just had one installed by my mechanic and am waiting to get the car back - unsure if it fixed the situation.

Hope it helps.
