***RV6 True Dual EXhaust for RL

I've been chatting with RV6 since he is a good friend of mine. Trying to get him to do another cool set up for us. I've talked to him about doing a custom exhaust for us. Something like the TL set up. He asked me to post something to get some feedback from all of you RL owners... Post your comments here if you feel this would be a good job...

it would look similar like this guys...

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/rv6-v2-true-dual-exhaust-04-08-tl-type-s-quads-batch-2-collecting-deposits-844544/

from what i glanced at, they want $1400 for a cat back?
or does that include the j pipe ?

I would love to put an exhaust on this vehicle but isnt 1500 the price for a jdm cat back? granted it's not true dual exhaust though.

Wonder if i can have them do a one off one with different exhaust tips?

Keep the interest high boys and girls... The more interest would mean RV6 would start building something...

This exhaust sounds awesome. If I were to get it I'd want it a slightly quieter though so maybe two resonators instead of one. The price is steep but it offers gains, beauty, and nice sound. I'd be down. He'd also have to make some smaller quads that fit our aspec opening. the Type S quad is too large

i was looking at the pictures again and if we wanted true dual exhaust wouldnt we have to get different j pipe?

our j pipe merges where the cat is. where as the TL j pipe merges into "x pipe" with the cat back.

ours

theirs

I'm interested but would this just be a cat-back so we would have to purchase the j-pipe also? I mean $1500 is pretty steep...you can get a 5zigen Catback for that price. I imagine the price for this would also be even more since this is the RL and he isn't going to be selling as many. I wouldn't want quad tips either because it just looks dumb on the RL. I would have to know the details before committing...

^^^Quads might look dumb on your RL but on mine it looks good. Also the 5zigen isn't a cat back its essentially an axle back.

Well I spoke to RV6 yesterday and he states he will be on shortly to answer your questions. He is fininshing up orders for the holidays. but he knows the poll is up and ppl are interested on this item.

As far as price goes or how it will look, idk none of that. I would say that it could potentially look like the TL, but idk. Stay tuned....

RV6 will be here soon.

Is it really "true dual" if the pipe merges to a single flow at some point?

Also, not to bust any balls, but having a poll that measures interest without requiring a monetary commitment is not the same as having a "want-to-buy" or group-buy list. I would put money on 3/4 people who voted "Yes" not every buying one being sold.

The reason for this was to see interest. I know in the end when RV6 comes in and starts answering questions, and starts posting prices people will either back out or be intrigued and want to buy one.

The poll was only to get RV6 interested to even start thinking about doing it.

Since i am local to him RV6 and I will probably do a lot of testing and fitting to insure quality. But overall this was made to grab his interest to build one for us. : D

Interested yes. But i would surely like it more quiet, its not a race car, just a nice mellow grunt. Price and what does it include. im only about 2 hours from chicago

I would have to agree with this, I don't know how that is considered true dual exhaust, both the pipes merge into a single bottle necking point. I would have to see an x-pipe, h-pipe, or no merge at all for me to consider this a "true" dual exhaust. That being side I have a "true" dual exhaust and i'm not sure if there is really that much to be gained over just a j-pipe configuration which is basically what we are calling a "true" dual exhaust here.

I agree with this too, I'm starting to get tired of the exhaust I put on my car, considering going back to stock or a whole new system next year.

Maybe there is more of a market for stock exhausts for all of the people who screwed theirs up with after market ones?

Naw what I meant is that it looks like you can't use the J-Pipe and this supposed new exhaust in combination.

it's either or.

I am very interested as I jumped on the jpipe when it was available. For this, I am definitely interested but the price is a little high for me. Also, I hope the piping will be higher up if possible as I scrape my stock pipes almost everywhere. I am on teins comfort all the way down.

It appears the new exhaust would go with the jpipe. The problem is our Jpipes have a merged section where as the TL merges at the flange, essentially making an X pipe where for us it would make an >-< type of thing.

I dont know if he could get it any higher than stock without the possibility of it hitting the driveshaft. Just my though
