Tires
I recently bought a base model FWD RDX. I have always bought Michelins for most of my vehicles in the past. I'm curious what Acura enthusiast prefer for this model ?

thanks for recommendations. to those who asked, it's a 2013 RDX. We live in Alabama so no snow (hopefully). Just looking for an all around good highway and wet weather tire. I'm all about safety !!

Low cost tires
You could try these tires for a low cost solution. I've gone to their website and it looks OK.
Since you are not going to see now these maybe for you. Typically, low cost tires are not very good in snow even though they are all season.
Only disadvantage is the they are "H" rated and the OEM are "V" rated.

I would never skimp on tires and would never put the low cost tires suggested by Tal above on any of my family vehicles. Just remember your tires are the only things actually touching the road. Doesn't matter how powerful your engine is or how great your brakes are........... Your tires make all the difference. My $0.02

The OEM Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires are actually really good tires. Granted, mine are still fairly new with only about 7K miles. Going through some decent unplowed snow this past winter they did just fine. With that said; the new Michelin Premier LTX looks really good and probably would be my pick if I were replacing tires right now.

@thephantom: Curious about your experience with gas mileage on those. We bought a set of Premiers for a passenger vehicle and the mileage dropped over 10%. Response from Michelin was that it was the compound they use and the tires were not 'X-Green' like the ones we replaced, so there was more rolling resistance. Loved the tires, otherwise. Like you said, quiet, responsive (even in light ice/snow) and handled great.

Have you considered tire pressure and 4-wheel alignment?

thanks so much! One last question. Being from the south most of my past vehicles have been RWD sedans or trucks (I guess i'm a redneck). Since this is a FWD vehicle do you recommend to have all 4 wheels aligned at this time ? I'm used to front wheel alignment only.

I'd do a 4 wheel alignment because pothole and cubs can throw off the rear wheels, which will affect the steering and ride. Also, get it done at a trusted dealer since I've had experiences with NTB and others alike ruining my tire/wheel and not being able to perform the rear alignment because they didn't have the specs.

I will be putting my second set of Michelin Premier LTX on my RDX this week. It's been a good tire and has remained manageable in wet weather even within 1mm of the wear bar.

I put a new set of OEM michelins when my tires were worn out at 45 K miles. It's great and I have no complaints.

Looking at a set of Pirellli Scorpio Verde AS for my next set.
Very good Tire Rack reviews as a nice blend of performance and comfort. They have 45K warranty and are well priced at $560 for a set of 4. Also noticed that my local Acura dealership put a fresh set on a CPO RDX as I was walking through the lot, so probably says something.
