So glad I bought the RDX instead of BMW or Mercedes
Today at an expensive servicing (B123) which runs over $500 Cad but I'm doing B13 because changed the engine and cabin filters myself so it is $396 at Honda (cheaper price than Acura for servicing but call around it varies), I realized I'm so happy I don't drive a BMW X3, or Mercedes GLC, etc because the servicing equivalent would probably be aroubd $1200. I would feel sick in the stomach right now if I had to pay $1000+ for a servicing appointment. Whooohooo!!!!!

Imagine how you'd feel if you were to A) covered under the service warranty, B) find out those services aren't yet due on a Mercedes or BMW, or C) find out the cost of those services are about the same cost regardless of brand.

Whether you pay for services directly, through a warranty, or through the increased cost of the vehicle, in the end servicing for a German luxury vehicle far surpasses an Acura by several times. They have 10 year cost of ownership studies on this. Toyota comes out the lowest, and Honda and Acura are among the lowest

Only a tool would pay for doing that service at an Acura dealer. Lol, what a waste of $396, OP.

It is expensive, didn't have time to find a reliable independent garage though. I could have taken the chance to use a random one but then they might damage things or trick me into buying repairs that I don't need. Or they may not do a proper job. Lots of shady garages around, so until I find a trustworthy garage, I have to stick with the dealership this time. Still way cheaper than BMW and Mercedes though!!

The only time BMW and Mercedes are cheaper to maintain is if you do it yourself. They're designed to be money sucking machines.

justnspace, I appreciate your avatar upgrade. Those some sexy pincers.
Rockyboy, I dont understand why you get such a hard time from people here. Average ongoing maintenance/repair costs for Acura is way less than BMW/Mercedes...anyone who thinks the opposite is delusional.

So the service breakdown looks like this (stolen from another forum):
Im still confused why anyone would pay for this. There's nothing in there that can't be done on your own time... and save $300 wile you're at it. But hey, if your prerogative is to make dealership owners richer, so be it.
B:
Replace engine oil and oil filter
Inspect front and rear brakes
Check parking brake adjustment
Inspect these items:
Tie rod ends, steering gear box, and boots
Suspension components
Driveshaft boots
Brake hoses and lines (including ABS)
All fluid levels and condition of fluids
Exhaust system
Fuel lines and connections
1: Rotate Tires
2:Replace air cleaner element
Replace dust and pollen filter
Inspect drive belt
If you drive in dusty conditions, replace every 15,000
miles (24,000 km).
If you drive primarily in urban areas that have high
concentrations of soot in the air from industry and from
diesel-powered vehicles, replace every 15,000 miles
(24,000 km).

Rockyboy is saying after 10 years, the Audi or Porsche will become money pits. I'm saying "who the fuck keeps cars 10 years any more?"
yes, some do. Very few, though. The majority of vehicle buyers switch up every 5-6 years these days. I remember reading a nice article about it, not too long ago.

you do realize if you keep your invoices and note the mileage when work was done, it won't void your warranty, right? No where does it say you have to pay a dealer absurd amounts of money for shit anyone with a 50 piece socket set and ability to read a service manual can do.

The mechanic explains just one aspect of the design of a Mercedes, purposely engineered to require frequent repairs.
Also, vehicles that get towed off the highway (I've seen many) are often German luxury vehicles. Almost never Honda/Acura or Toyota/Lexus.

The hot receptionist keeps walking back and forth in front of me in the waiting area, wonder if she likes me. Also wonder if her ultra short skirt violates company dress code policies...

You should buy her a knee length skirt and tell her to change immediately. Also buy her a chastity belt while you're at it.

You should leave your Haggar zipper undone, and let your cock hang out the front. Ask her if she wants some moisturizer and then point at your cock and tell her to rub it until some cums out.

When someone asks for "evidence", you don't post "one example". Thousands of these are sold in a year. You need to prove that Mercs are, across the board, designed to fail. There's no evidence to suggest that.
