Electric power steering DTC
I bought a bluetooth code reader to remove a code thrown by applying SB 14.001. It removed the DTC with no problem. However,I have an Electronic power steering DTC 133-0 VSA signal failure.I can clear it ,but it comes back after a few minutes driving. Steering seems fine and vehicle stability assist can be turned off and on. VSA seems to work fine in snow. It is not a permanent code,so ,it does not appear in diagnostic info of Acuralink or cause the CEL to light.
Car is out of warranty. Should I just drive it or take it in for service?

Believe it or not the DTC cleared today.I did some research and found that some codes can't be cleared with a code reader. The car ECU has to prove that the problem has been fixed before it clears the code. This was done in 2009 to keep people"like Me" from clearing codes just before You enter the emission testing facility. So, not known to most of Us,the cars are much smarter than We think. It took about 25 days of driving before the code went away.
