LED Mirror Turn Signal When Unlocking
So today I have the 2016 RDX as a loaner from my dealer and I noticed that the mirror turn signal flashes when I lock/unlock the car... Is my 2013 RDX's mirror signal not working or is that only on the 2016? Just a note, it drives a lot quieter than the 2013...

All indicator lamps flash on unlocking the car. It's the same on most of the cars with remote locking. Check your original car's mirror reflector (preferably using another mirror).

My guess would be the lights that illuminate when you unlock your doors are the parking lights versus the actual turn signals. This may have something to do with the year model of your vehicle. I noticed it too on my TL, only the parking lights will flash while unlocking/locking the vehicle.

People, he is saying that on the 2016 rdx, the turn signals on the mirrors flash when he locks and unlocks the car. The turn signals on his 2013 model don't.
What does that have to do with parking lights in the headlights and you have a 2016 model, you can't really answer his question about a 2013.

I retract my earlier statement about my RDX having that feature. I just double checked mine now and it doesn't flash while locking / unlocking. I haven't noticed it so far....my bad. Mine is a 2014 model. I doubt now that feature is present in any of the 13-15 model years. Can someone having 2015 model confirm it please. I'm guessing it's the 2016 MMC update which changed it.
Thanks for the observation OP.

I got my car back from the dealer and asked the service guy this, he said that only the 2016s have it. I'm not sure if I should believe them anymore... They did a strut replacement without doing an alignment making me go back next week.

Pushing the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob will flash the front and rear turn signals and the side mirror lamps, but not the front parking lights. Same action if you lock/unlock using the door handle proximity feature.
Does that cover it?

On my 2016 RDX Advance, there are five sets of lights in front, all LEDs: the DRLs, the amber turn signals (very bright!), and the amber "parking" lights on the outside of the light housings. And of course the high and low beams. If you turn the headlight switch to "parking lights" position, the DRLs, the front parking lights and the rear tail lights illuminate, but not the front turn signals.
