How many miles do you get per tank on average?
Hey all, just curious how many miles do you guys typically average on a full tank of gas before having to fill up again, say from when the fuel light turns on until the pump goes click on full fill up?
I'm still pretty new to my 2013 RDX, less than about 2 months of owning it and have yet to drive it until the light goes on before I fill her up. However, I do get pretty close to empty and when I fill her up, I wait until the pump clicks and then I would top it off to the nearest dollar (I'm OCD like that lol). As of right now I'm at about 265 miles and at the 2nd white tick from the red empty line. The car states that my MPG is 22.5 since my last fill up.
I would imagine I could around 300-310ish once the light turns on per tank before I filler up. I drive about 50-50 city and highway. Anyone averaging higher? 350? Or even 400 per tank with their daily driving experience?

I would suggest that when filling your car and the pump "clicks" that you don't add any additional fuel. The additional fuel that you are adding has a tendency to make its way to the charcoal canister and you probably don't need the expense of replacing that.

22.5 MPG is the overall mileage reported through fuelly.com for the RDX reported by owners logging MILLIONS of miles.
Acura RDX MPG - Actual MPG from 305 Acura RDX owners
Because I take frequent 700 mile interstate trips, my RDX has averaged 27 mpg in 56,700 miles logged. Best mpg 32.7.
My 70% city / 30% highway driving comes in right at the 22.5 overall average reported by fuelly users.
Side note - I used fuelly to research other cars frequently mentioned on this site to see what real owners log for average mpg.
I am impressed with the RDX mpg and I also prefer the 6 cylinder acceleration plus the mpg highway improvement when the engine shuts down 2 cylinders and operates as a 4 cylinder.
Also, I prefer the RDX smoothness going up mountain inclines, nearly seamless transition back to 6 cylinders, without the jerking transmission shifts and engine strain from some 4 cylinder vehicles.

Same 265 mpg full tank mixed driving...range usually states 310 upon fill up.
Those fuelly stats make me jealous I want to believe the ones that care to post are fanatical about mpg's...commute on flat roads at the speed limit with no accessories on

Daaaamn?? For reals? Is that mainly highway driving? That's pretty dang good.
At least it seems I'm somewhat in line with what some of you guys are getting. Thanks everyone for their input. So I filled up the other day and actually used math to calculate how many miles I had used for Trip A (which was reset when I filled up on the prior tank) divided by the gallons it took to fill up. Turns out I actually got 20.5 mpg and not the reported 22.5 mpg the car said. Dang. I don't feel all that great now. Lol. I'll try it again on this new tank and keep calculating by hand.

Our RDX is the Mrs ride and does mostly highway on her commute, buts sits in stop and go traffic for the first few miles on her way home. She regularly gets 26.x MPG which equates to roughly 360-380 miles per tank with a couple of gallons left at fill-up

Side note, correct me if I'm wrong again, but I think the RX350 does state in their literature that 87 octane was okay so that was something I considered when I was car shopping. I know there's plenty of debate on this forum for 87 or 91 since our manual does not specifically say 87 was ok but there are plenty of people still pumping it cause 91 was recommended.

The 16 gallon tank is a bit short. Something like 19-20 would be better. Although most of us are ready to get out and stretch before we need gas, a longer range is always nice.

How much bigger? Like 18? 20? I've never had a gas tank that large since my last 2 cars were smaller sedans. I am definitely noticing a difference from my 2005 2.3L Mazda6 in terms of gas mileage though. I was on the fence about picking up a 2013ish RX350 however, EPA estimated like 18 city and 24 hwy (correct me if I'm wrong) so I guess it could be worse. I'm just trying to crack 300 plus per tank before having to fill up again.

Agreed. If you spend a lot of time on the road, more range is always a good thing. It's one of the things I'll miss most about my TDI. My best is a little more than 800 miles on a tank.

I only have five fill-ups so far on my new RDX, but the last two were 397 miles of mixed city and highway driving. One of those fill-ups still had just over a gallon left in the tank.

Pump sensitivity varies so that may not be a good indicator.
In any case, that is the one thing I would have to complain about in my RDX.
Tank capacity is 60.5 liters (16 US Gal) and at every fill-up, the pump clicks off at anywhere from 50 to 52 liters. That is well over 2 US gallons that I have to inch in.
