Heated rear seats

Hello, I recently got a 2017 RDX AWD Advance. Has anybody installed heated rear seats?
I believe they are available on Canadian model Elite version.

Thanks

It might take more than finding a Canadian back seat though that would be the starting point. Pull your existing seat to see if there's a wiring harness with seat heater plugs. If there are, dig around the rear of your center console to see if there are plugs for switches (U.S. models get blanks where Canadian RDXs get switches). If they electrical bits aren't there you'll have to run your own harness to a power supply. The fuse box likely already has an unoccupied slot for rear seat heaters.

Cheers!

Aftermarket kits are cheat enough. A good accessory store, or upholstery store should be able to install the heating pads under the existing seating material. See Amazon link below.

Amazon Amazon

A Eureka moment! It's dawned on me the seat heating elements are just installed in the seat covers. You wouldn't need the entire seat, just get the Canadian cover then run your electrics (wiring/switches) if they aren't already in the harness. You could probably do the install yourself rather than pay someone big bucks for their time and labor.

Cheers!

As you said - it would have to be a Canadian dealer who is willing to ship them - or go across the border yourself and buy directly at the dealership. You also need to figure out if the rest of the harness is there as someone else said. The switches should be easy as they are likely the same used in the front on base models. Please let us know if you are successful and how difficult it was. Silly to me the US cars don't have this as an option, or included in the Advance package.

I have them on my 17 and it is useful from time to time when people are back there and it is cold. There are plenty of cold States so you are right, this is crazy, that and power folding mirrors and no window washer warning light.

All you need is one of the AZ users in Canada to be a broker - they purchase from dealer then ship to the US!
