My backup camera does not show the color green as in green grass or trees. Any ideas? 2015 RDX Tech

 

Unfortunately that's normal. I always forget how bad it is until I pull my other car out of storage and am reminded once again. The 3 mode function is nice though.

I am with you. Firstly I have never noticed this and can't see why it would be an issue.

 

Not only is should have all colors but it should be in HD IMO, they can put a 16 mp camera lens on a phone, but they can't even have a decent camera on a LUXURY brand, unacceptable!

 

The 2016 Advanced camera is fine during day light. Greens show up, along with all others. However, at night camera is horrible. Resolution is terrible. The wife's 2011 Odyssey does not have this issue!

 

Don't get me wrong- love the the car. Nicest car I've ever owned. Just not the best back up camera, esp. at after dark.

 

Need LED back up bulbs to improve vision at night when backing up. Did it on my other and it's now 3 times brighter and pure white.

I always thought that the RDX camera was kind of acceptable (compared to previous vehicles: 2007 lexusIS250 and 2009 chevy avalanche) until I sat in my current 2014 X3 [with driver assistance package -> Dynamic lines, obstacles detection, crisp image with full colors, radar like system for front and rear of the car including beep assist]. The RDX has as an advantage the 3 view mode but to me this was useless since I always had it in normal mode and could not stand the wide view (very distorted) or up view (could be useful in a very few situations but I never got used to this)

 

Finally got around to installing led reverse lights. Backup camera screen is much improved! Would highly recommend. I used these bulbs:

 

There are several Acuras and Honda's w/this issue. But it doesn't prevent usage so its not really a big deal.

If you have a 2016 RDX (like me), the reverse light lens is pink, which distorts the colors in the image you see on the NAV screen from the camera while in reverse. Changing the bulbs to a high lumen output LED bulb such as the ones I used makes a huge difference in clarity. This is almost a must mod in my opinion.

I think I'm going to change the non-LED interior lights to white LEDs too.
