I bought a used Acura 2014 RDX AWD with some cheap Nexen tire-it slipped all over the roads in Lake Tahoe area-just 2-3 inches plowed snow on road. I didn't feel safe in the car so I didn't go down the steep I-80 to the lake. Acura put it up on racks and all 4 wheels did turn. What good all weather tire should i put on car-only drive in snow occasionally.

The OEM Michelin Primacy's are good. I use snows in the winter though, which are the Michelin X-ice.

Toyo Celsius CUV or Nokian WRG3 SUV. No other tires come close in snow. I have used them both on my 2014 RDX.

Recommending a tire choice can depends on your location and driving conditions. Also depends if you want only one set of tires OR you can go with a summer/winter set? I live in the southwest with very little rain and snow; but, travel in the Rockies mountains. It can be sunny and dry in Albuquerque and near freezing with +12 inches of packed snow when I get to Flagstaff, AZ, a few hours later. I've gone with Conti DWS 06 tires on all three of my Acura because:
- smooth ride at +80 mph
- excellent grip in corners with my MDX/RDX sh-awd and my TSX A-Spec suspension
- excellent wet, slush, and snow grip
- over 50,000 miles of wear
- they don't get noisy as the tread wears
- excellent all weather grip also translate into improved braking, cornering, and acceleration in bad weather
- still has excellent grip below freezing when dry

The weakness of this tire is the same for every all season are icy road when the temps are below freezing. Conti DWS 06 will perform better than most all seasons in those conditions; but, I would think about winter tires if you have 24/7 icy conditions for weeks at a time.

I live in Denver Metro and frequently travel the I-70W at high altitudes in Colorado. No issues with snow.
Was in Chicago area over Christmas. While all drivers were going slow in the right lane on I-80W, I was the only one doing speed limit in blowing snow in the left lane. Not one slip of the tire. Felt very safe.
All-weather tire is the way to go if driving in Snow/Ice.
