Wheel hub/drum rusty appearance, can someone verify please
All , I had my '13 RDX resurfaced rotors recently at dealer for vibration in steering due to braking at highway speeds. Now its completely fixed and the vibration is completely gone with rotor resurfacing and new front brake pads. I know the rust on rotors in normal. My question is on the wheel hub/drum (see pic below) which has holes in it, does it look like this on your rdx's ? I cannot remember how it looked before the service, also my rdx has been sitting in rain for a few days, I thought I remember the wheel hub/drum looked like it had an aluminum finish before. Just wanted to know how it looks on yours rdx's and I am curious if something changed on mine since it shows brown rusty appearance. I don't remember seeing it like this., Appreciate your feedback

^^ Yup...that is not uncommon. My former RDX had the same issue and yet, never drove in the rain. I think mine became like that from being on the lot until I picked it up.
It is unfortunate and that is one drawback of having open wheels....you see everything.

Yes mine looks like the same. It has been like that since I saw it at the dealer's.
As Weather stated, the problem is due to the open wheel design which allows us to see everything. I hope people don't wear transparent clothes.

Yes that is completely normal and it bugs me too. As it turns out I just replaced the front pads & rotors at 55k miles. Since I bought the rotors myself I prepped then before install by cleaning off the shipping oil with brake cleaner and then spraying the hubs and outer edges with a couple of coats of silver caliper paint. They look great and I won't need to worry about that rust issue going forward. Rest assured the rust is normal and not a safety issue.
