I just returned from a 933.4 mile trip. (RT) The trip computer showed 29.8 mpg while calculation showed 29.35 mpg. Close enough! Driving was on local highways at 65 mph speed limit and mostly on I-70 with 75 mph speed limit. I always exceed the speed by 5 mph. There were several places on I-70 where construction zones had speed limits as low as 40 mph. Elevation ranged from 4,200 feet to 10,600 feet. I am very pleased with the gas mileage!

And I am very pleased with the low road and wind noise and general overall comfort.

And, I am very pleased with the handling. Some of you are probably familiar with the stretch of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. I-70 follows the Colorado River through a deep canyon. The I-70 speed limit is 50 mph, with some curves having those yellow warning signs with speed limits of 45 mph. My speed never got below 60 mph, most of the time I was at 65-70 mph with a few short stretches at 80 mph. I never felt like I or the RDX was straining. My wife's Eclipse would do better, but I am a happy camper.

In all seriousness, that is a great report and happy to see your numbers and overall impressions which are in line with mine. This thing is a home run in my opinion! I am sooooo eager to see what they'll do to the MDX and the TLX in 2013 (for a 2014 model).

I traveled that same stretch of I-70 in my TSX and RDX on vacation. I always been about 31-32 mpg with the TSX and lucky to see 19-20 mpg with the RDX on that section of the road. I think the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70 is as high as 11,150 ft depending on which direction you’re traveling from (east or west).

I imagine the V-6, 6AT, and the RDX light weight made it easy to sail up the pass in the fast lane.

Wow, as I sit here in flat Dallas where it is 104 today, I have to say I think I just turned green. Sounds like a great trip in a great car.

I traveled from Salt Lake City (elevation 4,200 feet) to Keystone, Colorado (elevation 9,280 feet). I think Vail Pass is about 10,600 feet. I didn't go to Denver this trip so I didn't get to Eisenhower Tunnel. And yes, I was in the fast lane up Vail Pass, both directions.

Great info. here. I kinda expected as much. I'm getting very good mileage around town....and I don't have but 430 miles on it, or so...haven't looked lately...my wife has it all the time!! But, we've been getting around 22 with the air cond. on all the time. Hot summer here in Colorado!

I am more than pleased with what I've read and for my own results with the fuel mileage. Once mine is broken in, I forsee fuel mileage not far off from my previous CRV's! And that is very cool indeed.

This is exactly why I enjoy leaving Dallas regularly. lol. Arkansas, Colorado, Texas Hill Country, etc. Lots of beautiful areas not too far away.

Good to hear the mileage numbers backed up by real-world extended drives.
