SIRI Eyes Free... it will be mine....

Burning Brakes
No they support both but they optimize them for use with iPhone's which is fine by me.
We all have our priorities but for me the selection of the car takes precedence over the phone.
Relating to this thread, finally good news for canucks. Siri Eyes free is now available in Canada.

I hope Acura is not supporting just Apple's phones. More Anroid phones are sold then IPhones. A smart car company will have a system that can interface with either mobile phone operating system leader.
yes, I am an anti-apple products person. When buying a vehicle an apple only interface can sway me to another vehicle moreso than an engine with 20 less horse power.

HFL Error
So I managed to have everything setup and was in the middle of updating HLF to v2.0. While the process was updating and downloading the software I managed to interrupt the process and now it is all RED! HFL is completely stuck. I get an error saying:
GA-NET NG
HFL Part Number
HFL S/W Version
HFL NG
B1775 MICPWR
B1776 MICGND
B1779 SWOPEN
B1780 SWGND
B1792 ERROR
And the Software Update button is greyed out.
All the hands-free functions have stopped working. And I have no idea where to go from here. Any help would be really appreciated.
Thank you.

Yep still out there
Recently bought an 2015 RDX base and was disappointed that SIRI was not eyes free....I read these posts and others, First I called the dealer and their sister dealer, folks sounded like they never had this question. Called Acura, they said uh no sorry not on that model....I'm like really on 2014's but not 2015? they said "yes looking at your vin , no sorry" LOL I typed HDS into google, went to Honda Store, couldn't find it....followed another link....downloaded it, followed to the letter instructions on PDF found here...BI50045... to the letter...and bingo Siri is now eyes free. It took 15 minutes maybe.
So yes you can. If you live near Philly I can help. Underdogs win again!

Advanced
I own a 2015 RDX Tech
Here's a little background (from Acura Canada)...
Siri was intended as a Canada only thing in the 2014 RDX. Acura Canada also got it in the 2015 RDX as well, but it was not activated. Some where along the '15 model year there was a part number change due to a superseded part (HFL/Bluetooth module). The new part number has SIRI in it as well but it can not be activated.
When replacing the GPS unit, Acura usually replaces the stack (currently in Canada an EIGHT+ week B/O for the hard drive) and your HFL unit IF replaced will no longer be SIRI capable.
I have now experienced eight stack replacements by Acura Canada (in 10 months). I currently has the last known (Jan 2018) old version of the HFL which Acura Canada scrounged out of a warehouse and have a working SIRI (they pulled my previously working SIRI in August 2017.
My issue started with a GPS time to arrive error when 180 miles away from destination and the factory unit claimed it would take 7.5 hours (only one road available to drive the route!!!). We are not going to discuss THAT 23 month fiasco...
Except that I put a map update in the DVD player (Disc 1) and it will not eject. Cant be removed by dealer. Pulled out audio unit (DVD) and replaced it...Acura Canada says tough luck buy a new set of discs for ~$200. In the dealership service bay, when they replaced the audio (DVD) I said...Hold On...lets try the DVD player. To the dealers astonishment (NOT) the new unit would not allow any CD or DVD to be inserted. There is no disc in it it just doesn't work.
Be careful what you wish for...lol
