New Owner 2016 RDX Advance
Hi everyone. New RDX owner. Love the car, but have notice 2 issues: 1) wind noise - not road noise (sounds like the front windows are cracked open all the time) and 2) 15 GB hard drive and you can only load it with a CD?? I read somewhere that it's a legal issue, but found that not to be true. My neighbor has a Chrysler and loaded his hard drive using the thumb drive. I'm in my late 50s and buy a lot of music, but can't recall buying a CD for over 10 years! I've read about others complaining about this issue and think it would be great if acura updated the software to allow you to use mp3s or thumb drives.

I have zero wind noise on my '16 Advanced. Something is wrong. Let them figure it out.
I, too, am pretty sure the HD loading only from CD is a copyright issue. I always buy CDs as they are full-fidelity and represent an archival copy of something I've paid for. It is not uncommon to have the CD price be less than the digital download price from iTunes Store.
The reason it bothers me, however, is that it will only load in real time, so loading can only be done on long trips.
Congratulations on your new Acura. I'm really enjoying mine!

I'm glad you don't have wind noise. It really is a annoying. I have an appointment to take mine in at the end of the month (after 60 days of ownership). The people on the blogs who have had wind noise apparently were not able to get rid of it. I hope that is not the case for ours.
I don't think the music has anything to do with copyright issues. My neighbor's Chrysler loads the hard drive via the USB (he can also do it via mp3s).
I am looking forward to many years of driving the RDX..... will even enjoy it more if I can get rid of the wind noise

No issues with wind noise in our '16, in fact the cabin in the new RDX might be the quietest Acura has managed in recent memory. Much quieter than my '12 TL and our old '10 MDX. While loading from CD is clunky, can't you just connect a USB drive full of music and play directly? I know I can in my TL, haven't tried in the RDX, we generally stream pandora. I'm sure they'll get your noise resolved - don't back down until they do

I have no wind noise either and have 3500 miles on the RDX. It has no issues at all. As for the music, it is much easier to put music on a flash drive and leave it inside. No ripping time and putting music on a flash drive is much quicker and you don't have to flip threw numerous CDs to find the music you want.
Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the site.

Yeah, the CD to HDD thing is, um, novel? My suggestion, like others, is to just cut out the middle step.
$45 and you could be set with nearly a lifetime of mp3s that you could load, plug in, and forget about: amazon.com/dp/B00YFI1EBC/ref=twister_B00MQL3OHW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Or just stream directly from your phone (or mp3 player if so equiped) to the car via bluetooth.
I see the CD/HDD as a bit of a relic. Much like that last available tape deck in the Lexus SC430; there's still *some* value to having it, but it's getting a bit long in the tooth and is dying on the vine.
Cheers!
