How to start engine with valet key

How does one start engine with valet key for 2018 RDX? Thanks

The valet key is only to lock the glove compartment and to open the drivers door in the event your battery die's and you need to get into the car to open hood. You cannot start the car with the valet key, it is push button start only.

Thanks for the reply. I guess one has to leave the whole key fob behind if using the valet parking 😀

Maybe things have changed since my 2010 TL was built but according to the 2010 manual, a valet key only comes with cars that DO NOT have the keyless access system. For these, the valet key only works in the ignition and driver's door lock. For the cars with the keyless access system, they have a key you can remove from the fob. They also have a switch in the glove box that turns off the truck release buttons. With this switch OFF, the glove box locked and the truck pass-through cover locked, you can give the fob to the valet (with the removable key taken out) and your trunk is secure.

RDX has a switch inside glove box to turn the trunk release off??? I was not aware of that. I need to check that out. Thanks.

He is talking about his 2010 Acura TL. Why would you need to lock the trunk for Valet when all you need is to climb over back seat.
