How to lock you key fob in your car
I do a lot of kayaking and mountain biking. We often need to shuttle the car to the end of a ride. Typically you give an extra key to the shuttle driver. He parks the car at the take out, leaves the keys under the seat, locks the car and walks away.
I can not find a way to lock the car with the keys under the seat. Is there a way to do this? Thanx Ron |
can you take out the battery perhaps?

I've never tried it, but to prevent a signal between the key fob and the ignition perhaps you could wrap the keys in aluminum foil or place them in a small metal box to see if that would work.

I've tried 3 different methods of shielding the key fob with no success.
Removing the battery may be the only way. Just a little worried that a shuttle driver will do it (or do it correctly). So no way to configure the lock system to allow this? (I did scan through the options several times, tried a few changes, no luck) Ron |
I believe you need to put it in a lead lined box
