Goodbye All
Just completed the deal on a 2016 Sorento SX 2.0T.
I tried my best to like the RDX but the rough noisy ride has been a sore point from the beginning and Acura is never going to come through with a fix let alone acknowledge that there is an issue.
Lessons were learned in that a 10-20 minute test drive is not long enough. I had a loaner for an entire day and put it through it's paces before I signed off on the deal.
I really like the KIA for it's quiet comfortable ride, features and upscale interior. It feels real solid! I'm also kinda partial to the styling.
Some might find it strange to go from an Acura to a KIA and that's fine. It's never been about brand cachet, I just buy what I like and hopefully it works out for the best. The KIA feels pretty darn upscale by the way.
I have the following accessories available and they are all in immaculate condition. PM me if you're interested.
All in Ebony and for the Tech model.
Location Winnipeg, ca.
-WeatherTech front liners
-WeatherTech cargo liner
-Acura cargo cover
-Lloyds plush pile carpets front and rear (real nice quality)
-19" Chrome Accessory wheels with Toyo Versado CUV tires (3,500 miles)

Congrats as well and we are in same decision process in the next few months. The 16 RDX at least now is competitive with the Advance model now, but not sure it will win any more., although the gf loves it. I wanted to come back to a TLX, but have not seen a silver one AWD Advance in Metro Atlanta in months and honestly I want Silver Moon to come back, Acura's wild silvers variations are not for me.

I am sure you will enjoy your new Sorento. I went with the 2016 RDX, but the Sorento was a close second. It is very nice ride and loaded with features, but for me the RDX was the better fit.

One for you with the RDX in the background.
Thanks!

No doubt it does but there were other considerations at play here.
Thank you.
Here she is. I took more but they are kind of crappy. I might of had a case of the jitters after spending all that money.

It doesn't look like the KIA is much cheaper than the RDX?$49,320 selling price for v6 sxl, insane - Kia Forum

Hand-filer, stay in touch and let us know how the car is holding up. When I test drove a Sorento a couple of years ago, I sat in the drivers seat and said " they copied the Lexus RX-350" . The interior was very similar, and the dimensions of the vehicles were the same. They are making great cars now and deserve a test drive for anyone looking. A fellow worker has a Hyundai Sonata..........very smooth and very quiet on the road. As good as a Lexus ES-350. After seeing the picture of your car, I have to go out and take another test drive of the Sorento.

Bu-bye! Did you take your KYB's with you???? I should warn Kia forum to expect this kind of input from you:

maybe the smoothness and quietness is up to snuff but the interior materials are anything but. hyundai still uses some cheap materials.
As for price- H/Kia are building better and better cars. They can justify charging more and more every year. They're still a great bang for what you get.

Not all are satisfied. I'm counting the days until my Veloster lease is up. I've had a horrible Hyundai experience and can't wait to come back to the Acura fold (2016 RDX is first on the list).

Yes, but if you can remember when Lexus and Infinity first came onto the scene, everyone laughed at the thought of them taking on Mercedes, Cadillac, and Lincoln in the luxury market. Who is laughing now? They have quality and resale value.
I think Hyundai and KIA will eventually be up there in long term quality/reliability. They are backing their powertrains with a good warranty.

Right, but Lexus and infinity were poised for the luxury market. That's not H/Kia territory, save for the Genesis. Their materials likely will never be as nice as Lexus as that's not the demographic they're tackling. I dont think it's out of the ordinary for them to be where Honda and Toyota are though.
My 2012 Sonata has some shitty interior materials and the exterior panel fitment isn't the greatest. They have room to improve to where Honda or Toyota are. Although I'm sure they've been gaining ground with every new iteration, such as the 2015 Sonata.

Yeah, right, the Equus. Again, that's not normal Hyundai/Kia. I've yet to see an Equus on the roads here in my city. I'm sure there's a few around, but they are uber rare. I'm talking about the 10,000 "normal" Hyundai/Kias I see every day.
Edit: When I said Genesis above, I was referring to the Equus.

Hyundai versus Lexus
After 3 different dealership experiences and 2 incidents with Hyundai corporate, I can tell you Hyundai can't touch Lexus in customer service or dealership experience.
I am not alone. Yelp your local dealerships.

Hyundai
I'm not trying to derail the OP's post, I'm just bringing light to the topic of actually comparing Hyundai to Lexus. Not close.

I don't know about comparing Lexus with Hyundai. Assuming the quality is equal between these two brands it still wouldn't make many Lexus buyers switch to Hyundai as it doesn't have a luxury tag associated with it. The buyers may not want to deal with the same dealership that sells much cheaper cars. If Hyundai comes up with a separate luxury brand then things would be different. Don't know why they are waiting?

Really enjoying the Sorento.

Hand-filer,
Saw that JD Power report this morning. Acura is not very high on the list........right next to Mitsubishi.
I sat in a new Sorento the other day. Very impressed. I test drove an Infinity Q-70 sedan. Their V-6 is 330 hp....very quick. There are many choices out there.

Kia's selling point is mainly the technology, and when it comes to reliability , no doubt its going to be worse than a Honda/Acura. Only if Acura stepped up there game with the technology, then it's a win win.

And some of us prefer to own a new vehicle that sounds and feels and rides like a new vehicle. Too bad Acura hasn't figured that out yet.
Enjoy your Acura and all that comes with the experience of owning it. I'll take my chances on KIA.
