Fuel Injector Service?

I recently brought my 2013 RDX into the dealer for an oil change, while there they did an "inspection" on my car, and said it was due for a fuel injector service? Does anybody know what that is and if I should do it, they said the cost for it was about $300!! I only use premium gas, and my gas mileage hasn't changed at all since I bought the car last year. BTW it has 73,000 miles on it.

Ask your dealership to show you where a fuel injector service is called for in officially published Acura documentation. When they are unable to do so, tell them "Goodbye."

They are just trying to make You part with $300. I agree,They will not be able to show You that Acura recommends this service.Even if They do have some paper that says this is needed,I would skip it.If You had problems You would have mileage loss or a check engine light.

A Honda dealer made a similar recommendation way back when I had an Odyssey. When I asked what it does and what's it for, he said it was optional. I declined the service.

Very sketchy. Buy a bottle of Techron for 10 bucks - which is likely similar to what the dealer would use- and move on.

Agreed...upselling additional service department fluff.

Run a bottle of BG44k or Techron through you gas tank, before your oil change. That way any deposit that get into the oil are removed at the time of said oil change. Also, when asked about injection cleaning, I tell the service manager what I did and he/she usually stop pushing their injection cleaning service.

Why even bother? Virtually all automotive fuels sold in the U.S. contain more than adequate cleaners and conditioners to maintain modern fuel injection systems for the life of the vehicle.
