I'd like to protect the back of the rear seats of my 2017 RDX when they're folded down. I can find plenty of cargo liners, but they only cover the cargo area when the seats are in upright position. Any help?

Also interested. I bought a 2017 RDX a week ago and was considering a WeatherTech floor (1st and 2nd row) and cargo liner, though if there is something that the community recommends I'd be interested to learn about that option as well.

We just use a blanket. The bride hunted one up that matches the color of the carpet and folds up into a very small package (it even came with a case). Obviously a thin blanket won't protect anything from sharp objects but if you're just trying to protect from scuffs and minor spills it might work for you. We also have the plastic cargo tray behind the rear seat so wet stuff (hauling plants home from the nursery) goes on that.

We have the cargo tray and when I know we need to fold down the rear seats we use a moving blanket. It's big and when folded - bulky, but we don't keep it in the RDX. It will protect against sharp objects and if needed spills. I think we picked it up at Home Depot, but don't remember what we paid as we have had it a while.

Super cheap and covers everything. Our dog likes and is heavy enough she won't kick it around.

in hindsight I wish I didn't get the cargo tray.
Everything slips around and the lip while keeping in spills the edge of the tray seems to limit usable space when loading luggage.

Wont fit perfectly, however this is cheap protection. I bought this for my back seats on my TL. Cheap, well made 25 dollars and I use all the times for boxes, pets or etc.

I have a 1G RDX and I use the OEM cargo liner and 6X8 tarp for larger items. The waterproof 5ml light blue Grizzly thick tarp is only $7 from Amazon and it folds flat enough to hide under the cargo liner. I've have the same tarp in my MDX and used the tarps for Home Depot runs picking up landscaping bricks or bags of soil, transporting a bike (usually a little oily/dirty), or to wrap a flat tire once that was extremely dirty and smelly.

I second getting a moving blanket from harbor Freight, which is inexpensive (and even more so with one of their regulary distributed coupons (20-30% off one item) and made well, with a little extra thickness that you don't get from a plasticky tarp.

For $7 for a 6X8 tarp, no reason not to get both? Tarp does a better job with wet or oily items and clean-up is just spray with a hose, maybe some soap, and let dry for a few minutes. I've even used the same tarp to cover a open pick-up bed with bungee cords to take stuff to the dump, use it to sit on a wet bench at a sporting event, and cover a wooden picnic table that had a lot of splinters. I also use my tarp to drop my MDX spare tire on because it is easier to pull it out on the tarp compared to scrapping the tire by dragging it on the ground (usually dropping the tire to check the PSI before a trip).

If you don't do those types of things, a blanket might be a 99% solution for your needs.

^^^ Depending on what you are doing or your specific needs, either one or as you suggested having both handy sounds like solid planning.
