Did you put the battery in the correct way, or might it be in backwards?

Did you remove the little protective sticker from the battery?

What model year is your RDX?.
  • Do the doors unlock when you reach behind the door handles (i.e. FOB still in your pocket).
  • Does the FOB unlock your doors (including the hatch) from a distance when you use the unlock-lock-hatch buttons on the FOB?.
  • Do any LED's light up on the FOB when you press a button?.

If none of these things are happening, especially the LED's not lighting, then
  • your new battery is probably dead
  • your battery is installed backwards
  • your FOB is defective
If these things do work, then perhaps it's just your ignition sensor that is defective. Does the second key work normally with the ignition?

Also try putting in your old battery. It should still work with the warning message that battery is low. Why don't you buy a new battery (from a different shop) and give it a try? It's only a few dollars. All batteries have a limited shelf life whether used or not. It's very unusual for a keyfob to simply malfunction (though not impossible). Let us know what happens.

I did the same thing and the new battery was dead. Tried a different one and all good. Some of those made in China batteries are pretty unreliable
