Flashing D and N Transmission Check On - Some rain got in

Well, messed up on my 2015 RDX and accidentally left the sunroof open just a bit and some rain got in. Not much but a bit got on the shifter area and think it might have seeped in. Dried everything and started the car put heaters on high and both seat warmers for a while to make sure all was dry. Drove about 20-30 miles just fine. Then when getting back into the car after going to the store and backing out, putting it in D caused the transmission check light to come on and it seemed confused to what position it is in. All three LED's light up, N, D and Sport. I think it might just be an electrical issue but wanted to check with you all in case anyone has run into it. Is it maybe just a shift position sensor issue? I hope it doesn't cost an arm and leg to fix. I just came up to my A14 service and that is pricey. Honda dealer has 400 discount which helps but still chunk of change. Thanks., Mike

Pull off the two side panels on the left and right of center console. Use air gun and dry the area where the shift selector is. Leave panels off to allow everything to dry, you can drive car with panels off.

The right side panel has a screw holding it in on aft end. You need a long screwdriver and go in from the top.

Thanks for the tip. I will pull them off and do some drying. May have to buy a long screwdriver as all my tools are in storage in another state :). Hope it helps.

Drying out has stopped the flashing D and N and seems it now knows which position the shifter is in. Transmission check light is still on but probably left over code from the position issue. Thanks for the help!
