Is anyone else not comfortable in the driver's seat? How can I adjust the seat for maximum comfort?

No discomfort whatsoever on my part....There are enough configuration to find a decent seating position on the driver side I would think....If you were a passenger, I could see the height being an issue.

Its not just the driver seat but you also have to adjust the steering height/distance to get optimal driving position. Also, not sure what your body size is...I am 5'11, and slim so that is not an issue for me.

Not a problem since the seat is very adjustable.

I'm 6'5" and around 250 lbs. Although my seat settings are basically the maximum (all the way back and as low as possible) I am incredibly comfortable. My wife's '10 Accord provides almost the exact same amount of room but the amount of support provided is drastically different. I had only considered VW's for myself because I'd found them to be built for larger drivers but my driving position in the '13 RDX is very sturdy and also VERY comfortable.
