Acura Body Side Molding
Of the few Acura accessories I am considering, body side molding is one of them.
08P05-TX4-2D0, Lunar Silver NH-830M
Does anyone have any close-up pics of the molding mounted and on edge so that I can see the profile.
What material is the molding made of; hard plastic or a soft rubber/vinyl?

If I remember correctly it is hard plastic but has some sort of mild flexibility in it which makes it perfect for the job. Go for it. You won't regret it. It improves the bland looks of the doors as well. I'm considering it myself.

To me it sits a bit low for maximum protection, that said I have had them on my 14 and 17 and no dents yet. If it saves one dent it is worth the $300 installed I paid. I think they look very integrated and OEM looking.

That is the issue I have and didn't get them for that reason. I have picked up two dings, both outside of the area covered by those. PDR has been $200 total so far.

The molding sits on the door edge crease so if it was higher up it would look stupid. Luckily I haven’t needed to test it yet on my 2016 RDX but I also had the door edge molding on my previous 2008 RDX and it took a big hit one day. I even saw it happen. I was walking back to my car and some fat-ass older lady parks her minivan like a foot from my RDX and opens the door full force and slams it into my car. WTF! I was pissed to say the least. The molding got scarred but it saved my door. It does work if and when needed.

Thank you for the comments so far.
How far out from the door panel where there are mounted do they stick out?
A half inch, an inch? I am try to gauge the profile of them.

Wow, thanks for reviving this old thread. I haven't seen an RDX of your color, must be really rare, looks cool though. The pictures of the install are great. Thanks again.

Yes, there is definitely a blue hue in there. Under certain lighting conditions, it looks more blue than silver.

@SamiaM68 The install doesn’t look too challenging, thanks for the pics! Do the templates come with the kit?
The kit comes with the template and alcohol pads, which were kind of dried out. I used my own rubbing alcohol to clean the surface.

On the topic of installing accessories (maybe I should start a new thread), has anyone tried installing the roof rails or door edge protectors? Dealer wants a crazy amount for install of accessories. Thanks!
