Accessory Roof Rail Cut Measurements

Does anyone have the measurements for the roof moldings to cut them for installation of the roof rails? Thanks in advance.

Wouldn't be easier and safer to have the dealer install them? The price for the accessories include installation and besides, if its done when you get the vehicle, they are also covered under the warranty as the original vehicle.

To me, saving 80$ is just not worth it...then again, I am useless with any tools

Well unfortunately there is a stop sale on these roof rails, so the dealership cannot even install this item. I'd like to install myself though since I have them, I just need to get these measurements, just have to be careful when tightening the bolts down as it can dent in the roof.

Oh, that is kind of interesting. Any idea what caused the stopage?

If Acura has halted selling this item, there may be a product revision/update coming out real soon.

If it is the case, you may want to put a hold on the installation for now, because Acura may also need to recall the item back.

I got it done though, measure twice( or more in my case), cut once.

On a side note, can you edit your posts?

Sound like you already got through it, but the instructions for any accessory installation can be found by going to the Acura website, selecting RDX, clicking on accessories and then going into the Acura e-store as if you want to order it. There is a button on the right that say installation instructions. I used it to see how hard it will be to install the cargo shade I ordered in advance of getting my car. Turns out to be very easy but the roof rack install scared me off.

My dealer installed roof rails before delivery, and they dented roof trim/molding while doing this. When I pointed this out, they had to order the new trim from the factory and re-install it later. They re-installed it today, and it looks OK now. I wish Acura would make it as a factory installed option like my old 2004 MDX had.
