A1 Service without filter change
If you DIY, then I believe most of us will replace filter when doing oil change.
But dealer only replace it every other oil change. I just notice that today when I have oil changed and ask if filter is replaced.
Obviously, I missed that as manual says A1 only needs oil change. So if you have dealer do it for you, do you ask for filter change and pay extra?

To most of us, I think changing the filter is something you do as part of an 'oil change'. OTOH, the manual says only to change the engine oil as part of an 'A' service. The 'B' service is to change the engine oil and filter. Personally, I do it every time, it's just one of those things that's cheap insurance, but in reality, every other time is probably sufficient if you're changing the oil on schedule. OTOH, if you don't change the filter, the old oil that's in it will stay in the engine. I suppose you could remove the filter and empty it and put it back but that would be really dumb.

I noticed that some readily available oil filters designed for synthetic oil come with a claim on the packaging that it should be good for up to 24,000 km (about 15,000 miles)
Unfortunately I would still need to replace it every time since I change my oil (with premium synthetic) every 15,000 km.
