4 guys and 4 sets of clubs in the RDX??
Looking to replace my VW Tiguan and the RDX is the perfect fit if it holds 4 guys and 4 sets of golf clubs. The MDX is just too much truck for my needs. Ninety percent of the time it is just me in the car but on weekends I need to haul four guys and our clubs. Will the RDX work for this? The Tiguan will not I can only do three guys. I really do not want to go up to the MDX so I wanted to reach out to you folks and see if anyone can help. I looked at the dealer the rear cargo is bigger than my Tiguan for sure. Not sure if I can get four bags in the back though.

Somehow, I knew I left myself open for the above response as it would be my first thought. I just had hip surgery and am not able to lug my clubs and my normal foursomes to the dealer right now so I was looking for some help.

I have a 2014 RDX and regularly have 2 sets of clubs in the back with no issues at all. These were standard bags with full clubs in them. (Nothing extra like those Push wheel things) I think you can get to 4 sets no problem in the back if you Stack them on top of each other.

This information damn near seals the deal for me. A 2014 Kona Coffee Tech would look really nice in my garage...

I've hauled 30 laptops (in laptop bags) in the back of my RDX.

I am no golfer, BUT, my RDX accommodates four adults, four pairs of skis and poles and four large ski bags with boots, helmets, extra goggles, etc, etc. I put the small rear seat down and made the two adults sit close in the large seat. Everything fits OK and nothing falls out when the hatch is opened.
Good luck, Jim

I found the RDX to be surprisingly roomy.
The Hyundai Santa Fe was noticeably bigger so if you really NEED the space then that's an option if you don't mind build quality, or smaller nav screen, or some possible rusting issues, or the fact that it has a large dead on-center spot in the steering, or more noise during highway cruising.

My options were three, another tiguan a Mercedes glk or the rdx..the tiguan was fun to drive and a decent performer but too small the Mercedes is nice but again too small. The rdx seems to fit that niche I am looking for...looked at the the kona coffee color in person today loved it.
Of topic but I have read this in another thread the steering column looked crooked in the floor model I looked at..

4 golf bags + 4 small luggages for a weekend trip should be easily doable. Hit the driving range with a friend. Loaded 2 golfbags (no need to take driver/wood out, no diagonal placement), small bags for shoes/accessories, and also had two dozen starbucks drinks which happened to be sitting in the cargo area for me to take to work.

How do you keep the drinks from spilling?

Have you taken a look at the 2016 kia sorento sx? I know it is a kia, I know it doesn't have near the luxury cache you probably want. But for real, give it a serious look, it has very very good cargo space, good price compared to the others, and even has a few features not available on the rdx or mdx.
They revamped it in 2016 and it now has very very good build quality, soft touch materials everywhere, including the bottom parts of the doors. Also has an excellent 3.3 V6 and overall a very premium package. You owe yourself to give it a solid look.
Also take a look at the new lincoln mkx, the jeep GC, and the santa fe sport. I had an mdx loaner for a couple days, it wasn't bad at all, but I didn't feel like I was in a 65k vehicle. My 07 Vw Touareg felt more luxurious. JMHO

Jeep, Kia, and Hyundai cannot be compared to the 2016 RDX. Different league. That's like comparing the OHL to the NHL.
The MKX is a decent vehicle but more expensive than the RDX for similar features and lower reliability.
The 2007 VW Touareg is not more luxurious than the 2016 RDX or 2016 MDX. That was from a decade ago. Also, VW cannot be trusted. They lie, cheat, and are criminals.

The RDX is a "premium car" NEVER a luxury car. Just a dressed up civic wagon. How can you compare reliability when the 2016 mkx just came out a month ago. I have ignored most of the crap you post, but don't try and argue a bunch of B.S when you have nothing to stand on.
Oh and the touareg came standard with an automatic chick magnet feature, it would only turn on when the chicks were 9/10 or above.
