2018 Acura RDX rear camera loose.
My RDX was parked in a parking lot and temperatures where super hot. 100+. Evening when I went to my car, I noticed that camera is lose. Has anyone noticed the camera becoming lose due to high heat. I will be taking it to the dealer soon.

Mine is loose as well, but not due to high heat as it's pleasant temps here. No idea what the cause was come loose.. I'm taking it to the dealer next week and have them fix it. One of the questions I'll ask is if they see this problem a lot.
Since I'm 4 1/2 hours away, I called ahead of time to ensure they have a camera in stock and to put my name on it. |
Dealer replaced the camera. I asked if he'd seen this issue before and he said yes... the mounting bracket on the cameras were failing. Next question I asked was if any of the replacement cameras were having an issue of the same problem and he said no.. Good news I suppose.

That’s excellent the dealer was able to fix...was there a charge and how much or could this be a fulfilled as a warranty item? my camera got crushed when the garage door opened and met the tailgate and camera. I ordered a new camera but it didn’t come with a retainer clip and it’s not an identifiable part. It must be a secret part. |
No charge, warranty took care of it.
When I first noticed it loose, I took the access panel to see if it was loose due to screws backing off.... After poking and pulling, I wasn't able to easily see how it came out so I left it alone. If it wasn't a warranty issue, I probably would've figured it out, but if there's a retainer clip that's not an identifiable part, that's potentially a game changer. Try approaching your dealer service department and see if they'll install the camera for you... tell them it's missing the secret part and see what they come up with. |
Blurry/grainy picture on backup camera at night.
Has anyone had a problem with their backup camera’s image at night on a 2018 RDX? My camera feels a teeny bit loose as well but not significantly loose. But the image at night is terrible. I even upgraded my backup lights to brighter LED bulbs with little improvement. I mistakenly entered a thread that was 3G 2019+ where this issue was actively discussed but was put on notice I’m in the wrong thread. This thread had the camera as the main subject. If anyone still owns their 2018 RDX I’d love to hear about your backup camera’s image quality. Thanks
