TSB Service after warranty and 130k+ miles?
My 01 CL has been experiencing the hard start issues in this TSB for a long time now and it seems worse now
http://www.in.honda.com/Rjanisis/pubs/SB/B01-001.PDF
Now that my 01 CL is way out of warranty and over 130,000 Miles are they still going to fulfill the TSB for free?
Also, since im the second owner im not sure if this has even been performed yet. Can they look it up if I walk in and ask the service rep?

Nope. You can try, but no dealer of any make would normally do a TSB on a out of warranty car for free.
I disagree with it, a TSB is simply a notice to dealers that the manufacture knows of certain problems a car may exhibit & how to fix them. Yeah that would mean it's a defect, & normal thinking would say it should be covered, but logical thinking gets thrown out in these cases.

Out of warranty: Any repair performed after warranty
expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by
the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone
Office. You must request consideration, and get a
decision, before starting work.
you gonna have to pay for this one.......

Fuzzy I was going along with your thinking as well. Since it is a "defect" I figure they would honor it for the life of the car.
My buddy with a 2000 E Class benz took his car in for an oil change a few weeks back (second owner) and the dealer actually notified him that there was a TSB for his car that was never performed. They gave him a loaner for a couple of days while they performed the work. He's at 80k+ miles...

So you are saying that no matter how many miles are on a 2001 cl that is 9 years old they should keep replacing the tranny no matter how many miles are on it? My dealer is nice enough to split the difference with me anytime my tranny goes but they dont have to do that and most dlrs would not care about the TSB's. TRUST me I worked at 3 diff dealers the last 7 years
