tranny fuild clean at 14,000

i've seen many people with really nasty tranny fluid at 14,000, but mine is clean and red. i was thinking about getting a flush at 15,000 but now i don't think so. why do it.......this fluid seems to be in perfect shape. btw, i also drive really hard.........some street racing here and there also. i'm wondering why this is completely different from some of my friends' CL-S where the fluid is dark brown/reddish? who changes at 15K and who at 30K?

I did it at 30 and it was dirty.. the fuild replacement was only 3 Qrts and it corrected the shiverring at 1-2 shifts.

It's up to you...

IMO, it wouldn't hurt to flush it out. I believe Jens recommended changing the lube at 15K.

AND

IMO, I'd do what Road Rage suggested over on the TL board: Buy the required number of Honda ATF bottles and let them sit upside down (to mix-up all of the additives that tend to settle to the bottom) and use that to flush the tranny.

Without an oil analysis, it's hard to know just how great your fluid is.

BTW, I'd be interested to know what type of driving conditions and temperatures you car has seen!

MODS: please to move to tranny land...

I haven't changed mine and I have 32.5k on mine. I was gonna change at 30k but my tech was like, just forget it, let it die and replace it. Don't waste your money.

I sorta feel bad for the tranny but at the same time I hate it so I guess that balances out.

heheh, so would I. This car is used as a college car.....and there are plenty of lead foots to keep up with around here. (also race many MBA-in-training punks with their cars!)

why move to tranny land? no one ever posts there.
