Supercharger 6 speed vs auto

I am sure this has been covered somewhere on the forum, but I just couldn't find a definitive answer.

Can the Auto supercharger be installed on a 6-Speed?

I went through the installation manuals and the only differences I saw were
a) Fan shroud modifications requirements
b) Auto requires a transmission cooler
c) Auto has slightly different filter to TB hook up to fit the TCS module

None of these seem like showstoppers. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Also, Why does comptech quote such different power increases? (50-60 for 6speed and 35 for auto)

And lastly, I want to use my P2R intake with the supercharger, has anyone done that successfully, or is there not enough room?

From what I've read the chargers elbow is different from 6mt to auto. Also I've never seen a car with a charger that didn't have the icebox.

Yeh, that makes sense. The elbow is different to hook up to the TCS. I can manage the connections from the intake to the TB.

I've seen S/C with custom made intakes. It's just a tube to bring in air, so you should be able to rig something up.

Gains are different because they were quoting wheel horsepower gains and autos have more drivetrain loss than the 6speeds so naturally the whp gains would be different

Another part to the question that I did not ask. What about the supercharger pulley, is it the same size for both setups?

I think the difference is due to the use of a smaller alternator pulley, 72mm I belive on the auto kit, v. the standard 6-speed 76mm and High boost pulley 82mm. I dont think those numbers are exact but I have the correct numbers at home. I have put specs. on the standard and HB pullies.

The differences I can think of are; (may be wrong)
1. The blower intake elbow
2. The alternator pulley 72mm
3. You dont have to mod the fan shroud with the 6-speed kit.
4. You don use the trans cooler with the 6-speed kit.

If you could get in touch with CT Engineering, which seems to be impossible, you could just get those parts for the 6-speed kit and be done with it.

You should do a search on the board about this topic. I am pretty sure it has been discussed several times in great detail. Jim

I dont use the ice box for the intake but i am assuming if you cut the p2r at the right spot it should fit. i went to home depot and got 4" PVC piping with a reducer and made my own along with textured spray paint from sears. it makes the charger whine much much louder.

I did a long search and can't really find an answer. I believe the OP is trying this now, but can the auto S/C be put onto a 6speed? The only thing i see is the elbow. So is there a way to make it work?
