Well, I did drove through car wash the other night, but nothing happened the next morning! I drove the next morning, and it was fine. Happened when i drove home in the afternoon. Hmm.. so what if it was from the intake.. does this damage the engine ?

why on earth would you drive your car thru a car wash in the first place, let alone with a CAI...do you at least have a bypass valve?

I have the same problem. Last week, I went to a hand carwash(Pitlane CW in Richmond) and it stalled on me when I started the engine after the guys finished the exterior. I couldn't figure it out. And, every once in a while at the carwash, it would idle at a very low rpm with the car shaking as if it's about to stall...but, this was the first instance where it actually did....hmmm

-I do have the by-pass valve
-I always use Chevron 92 premium...once in a blue moon 94
-Can't be the pulleys...everything was turned off including the stereo.

Stupid thought, but would spraying cold water through the grill directly at the radiator contribute to the stalling? When I was a kid, I used to wash my mom's Oldsmobile. I sprayed water directly into the grill for a few minutes. Afterwards, it wouldn't start till the morning after.

Could it be that idle control valve watchamicallit thingy? There was mention of low idle/stalling in a previous thread. Could this be it?

skyline...you're one brave soul. I'd rather take it to a hand car wash and deal with swirl marks and buff out the faint scratch marks afterwards. Those "touchless" car washes can be worse on the paint. They use high pressure water jets...strong enough to peel away at the paint in areas where there are scratches and/or chips. I used to own a BMW. I took it through a touchless car wash once. Came out and took a look where I had scratches and chips. Car looked clean...but the scratches were deeper and the chips were larger than before.

satinslayer.. REAlly.. I thought touchless were better than those ones with cloth tihngy.. but ok, maybe i wo'nt go.. GEEZ.. Just too hard to wash cars here in Toronto, I used to live in Vancouver, and its nice and easy to do it.

I would guess its the fuel regulator thing, my friend once told me this.."all acura cars, whenever u ignite, remember to turn the key to the last SECOND position where all the check lights will go on ? and wait for three second after all the check light go off, and ignite. Without doing this.. your car will feel having difficulty in ignition." is that true ?

BTW, should i worry about this if its starting ok ?

Well, if your paint job is perfect, then it should be alright. But, if you have scratches or chips, I would imagine that the paint around that area would be weaker(since the structural integrity...haha too much star trek...would be compromised).

Not this winter, though. We had snow on the ground until just last week...still kind of cold right now.

skyline > try using 92 or higher octane, check your air filter. maybe a ECM problem? if all fails, just bring it back to the dealer.
