Sold the six speed
Traded in the CL the other day. Sad to see it go, but I have a little girl now and my wife can’t drive stick, so the car was just sitting. I advertised it for $22k for a little while but nobody responded except some kid with no money. So I went to the Mazda dealer and they helped me get out of my lease and gave me $19k for the car! And it was really in need of paint. 2 corners were scratched badly. They did over charge me a little for the car I bought, but who cares! I got out of my lease early and they gave me a good trade in!!!
So to everyone who bought their six speed CLs for UNDER $18k...
You got a good deal.
I'll post pics of my new car tomorrow.

Cool. Sometimes you have to get out of a lease no matter what the cost.
One thing you have to remember whenever buying a new car, is that if you over paid for the new car, it only means that they over paid you for your trade. If you paid 2K more for the new car, then they really only gave you 17K for you CLS.
My brother recently bought a new tacoma. When they did the paperwork they gave him 1K more on the trade and charged him 1K more on the new truck then what they had worked out. We talked about it, and even tho' "playing with the numbers" didn't effect my brother money wise, we agreed that it will skew the numbers gathered by places like edmunds for their "what others are paying" data

That's the problem with trade in value data. You only get 1/2 the story.
I think that dealerships purposely inflate trade in values so that their sale price on the new vehicle will be higher. This will skew the "what others are paying" price on edmunds.com, etc.
They did that with my brother when he bought his Tacoma 2 weeks ago. He negotiated the invoice price and trade in value, but when they did the paperwork, they "Fudged" the numbers. Gave him 1K more on trade, but charged him 1K over invoice. Still the same money out of pocket, but they are really playing with the numbers now that people know invoice prices. Dealerships: where liars and figure, and figures can lie...

it happens almost all the time, try to negotiate the price first, then tell them you have a trade in, once that happens they will offer you dirt for your trade in....

when i was shopping around for my integra, all the dealers told me that they basically trade cost of new car for cost of trade-in....they could give me more for my trade-in but that they'd charge me more for a new car.

Dealers are trained to emphasize the component of the deal that is important to the buyer. If it is trade-in, they will bump that and stick it to you elsewhere, like financing or the purchase price. If it is payments (which is their preferred emphasis), then you dont know what you paid and got for trade in (unless you read the contract, and people who focus on payments could care less about contracts).
The only focus should be the purchase price and the trade-in price separately. Work out your own financing ahead of time, then allow them to beat it. Works for me every time.

How did you get out of your lease early and still have the dealer give you 19k?
I thought if you were leasing the car is not under your name and you actually have no equity in the car since you still have residual after all lease payments?
I have 2 more years left in my lease and I wouldn't mind switching to lease a C55 but i didn't know you could get out of a lease and still get money back on trade - in? I thought there was a penalty in getting out of a lease early.
