Should I Buy? '01 CL-S 155kMiles $5000

Should I buy this? Here is the ad: http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/pm...147334171.html

I previously owned CL-S before and had a pretty good experience with it. The only reason holding me back is the high mileage and transmission problems. However the guy has fixed the transmission not too long ago and it comes with 5yr/100kKM warranty.

My question is would you buy or look around some more?

First thing wrong that I noticed is the ECU chip. That chip is useless as it will be overwritten. Also, if its just a rebuilt tranny, it might go again so I'd have a transmission fund just in case. Looks clean otherwise and seems like you'd have a much better sound system.

Thanks for replying.
Thing is, I don't know much about car and all my previous cars have been stock. So I have some questions.
ECU=useless but that doesn't mean I would have to replace or fix anything right?
And about the transmission, if that goes then the warranty he offered should cover it right?
In your experience, how long do these transmission last?

Basically I'm asking can I enjoy this ride for one maybe two years without having to spending money on transmission?

Sent you a PM nuttimilk.

At the risk of sounding like an a-hole who is trying to make someone else's sale look bad:

I think that something is up with this guy's car since it's been around on CL since early March or late February (when I was looking to buy mine). If you are interested in that car, it may be worthwhile to run a vin lookup on ICBC's site and see whether it was totaled. I've seen that very car range in price from 6500 to 4000 and it keeps popping up...
