Shocks for stock ride height
 

I'm not looking to lower, too many potholes around for it to be worth it. Trying to figure out the best options. I want something that will last me a decent amount of time and not have to swap 2-3 years from now. I'm kind of overwhelmed with the choices. I know that Koni Yellows are the gold standard, but it seems like if I'm keeping stock ride height they'd kind of be a waste of money. Acura OEM also looks like it's about the same price as the Koni Yellows, so I guess if other aftermarket shocks are crap then splurging on the yellows might be worth it?

Looking on RockAuto I see a ton of choices... KYB Excel G? KYB AGX? Gabriel Ultra? Tokigo Blue? Koni STR.T? Something else? The Gabriel Ultras seem nice because they come with springs preinstalled. If I'm going for stock ride height, could I pull the springs off my existing struts or would they be too worn at this point?

Also, any recommended places to buy from? I saw some people recommending AutoAnything when they have a coupon going on.

My understanding is that the springs control the ride height, the struts will just control the dampening of the springs energy as the springs absorb impacts from bumps/potholes. I went from a stock setup to the Eibach prokit and found the ride to be too harsh (keep in mind this is just my opinion) and then went to the Tein High-tech spring which I feel is closer to a stock ride quality and maybe a little lower than the original ride height. Another important point: buy new shock absorber mount bushings and tophat rubber, those tend to get worn out and squeak over time.

Reading your post, it is actually my first time of hearing about AutoAnything. I took a look on there and found not only a good price (same that I paid @ Amazon) but some good reviews for those particular springs.

on my daily driver cls6 has bilstein shocks with stock springs that were light years better than the tired shocks that were on it when i bought the car with 119k on it.....

like whitetiger5 said if your gonna be purchasing shocks and if you can float some extra cash get the bushings that correlate around the parts you are replacing..
