RonJon's new 2003 CL 6mt w/ navi, I'm baaaack!

talk about indecisive...

I sold my car before becasue i wanted an NSX, or at least rwd and 6 speed manual.

I ran into 3 NSX's, all which had a problem or were overpriced.

I moved on to the S2K and was ready to buy, but felt like the car was tooooo small for me.

Next was a 2007 TL-S, but it too was kinda overpriced, especially with the 2009 around the coner.

So i looked at the good deals I was offered on the 2006 6mt with navi, but I really hat the interior and driving position/dash height of the TL, and 4 doors suck.

Now I am back to a 2003 CL-S 6mt with navi, 16k miles, onstar, Comptech headers, Icebox and strut bar. Mint condition, I saw the car a few weeks ago. Only thing is it's NBP, which i am not too fond of, but what the hell, i might end up painting it later. So begins the new CL project, I'ma do it up nicely, starting with an H&R drop with Koni's, 19" Inspyre Raven Black with machined face, Rotora BBK front only, RonJon CL Kit installed normally (molded when I paint the whole car) and small things like aluminum dash kit, Super Computer pedals and other accessories. I can't wait to drive the 6 speed, and this car seems like a keeper with such low miles. I settled with the guy at $19.5k out the door and he's only 25 miles away. I cut him the bank check on Monday and pick the car up. YESSSSS!

thanks man, I was looking at your car, but I felt liek i needed something local to make the deal run smooth. I think the H/I/E is the extent of my mods, this car also has a 7 year / 75kmile extended warranty bumper to bumper, so i'm gonna have the dealer install everything to keep the car totally coverred till 2010. I'm planning to mold the kit seamlessly and repaint the whole car brandywine red in a year or so. can't wait, I'm so excited.

Here's how I plan to do her up, with different wheels tho:

Nice... it's good to see another member return to CL ownership

I can't think of another car that's a better bang for the buck as the CLS 6spd...

the interior of the CL and it's bang for the buck was what made me decide to stay, at least until Acura puts out a rwd coupe down the line.

Wow...almost $20k for a 2003 MT with some mods. As a 2003 AT owner with some mods I would be lucky to get $12-14k I bet. That pic that you posted makes me drool...as a Boston local the days of a shiny CL-S are gone. Welcome to the days of salt covered cars for me!!!

I got $12.5k for my CL with 50k miles and it's parts, so I felt liek this car was an awesome deal, just being with such low miles and FULLY loaded made it a good deal.

what do you guys like better, I am likeing these Devotion wheels with the black lugs:

19" Inspyre type II in raven balck machined face and lip

19" Devotion II (pressure cast version) with machined face and lip

Congrats, there is just not much out there that is worth the prices. The CLS/6MT is a hard one to beat. I can see why you chose it.

I love mine but lately I've had to see the dealer a lot, twice for a new headlight ballast, and next week they will replace the Navi and radio. I have an alum dash kit which I'm thinking will get destroyed in the process. Now the pass window is making some ugly squeaks when rolling, and the driver seat belt is not retracting.

A lot all at once, I have had no other service repairs til now, at 38k miles. I'm pretty gentle on the car, sometimes electronics just break I guess.

i have never been a fan of any of your wheels besides the devotions, and these with the black accents look really clean. i think they would look great with a blue rotora bbk peeking through. the blue stock caliper made me think about it

Enjoy it bro.

Thanks, I just drove the car and it's in my driveway now. I took it around town and my clutch letup needs a little work, but I can get around without stalling. The only thing I know is that I'm not supposed to let the clutch up partially to move the car a little bit or move it slowly, right? If so, how do you get the car moving in a small area if your not supposed to "ride the clutch" so to speak? Either way, i already find myself drving alot more calm and less aggressive, with the auto you can do whatever you like and not sweat it.
So now the first thing Ima do is take it to the dealer for a checkup and to replace the fogged headlamp. I also hear a small ticking (not valve noise) when the car isn't in gear. I want to drop it, kit it and put some RJ wheels on it, but first I'm going to enjoy the smooth ride while stock.
Pics tomorrow, even tho its bone stock from the outside.

sorry for being a thread jacker, lol

but you mentioned fogged headlight, do they replace it if its under warranty? one of my headlights has a nasty fogging buildup thing, and the other has a small amount. If I take it to the dealership (its under full warranty), they'll replace them for me?

I would assume so, thats not normal and could damage your bulb I would say. Besides, these headlights are known to fog up. I had brand new ones from my last CL that fogged up regularly, but I was out of warranty.
