Thats the only pic I have. There is still a bit of hub for my hubcentric rings to sit on. I would think the EBCs are the same as they are for the same car and I didn't see anything around saying the hat is thicker.

thats what would make sense since they're both for the same car but according to his post (121, pg 4) his hub is covered up and from the pics he's right, theres no space for the rim to sit on the hub. but on your pic, i can see at least a little space.

looks like im going with the same rotors you have to be on the safe side.

Hey Civicdrivr next time you are switching wheels, could you snap a better picture of the hub sticking out past rotor?

just bought my calipers so this project is underway for me already also i won a set of Fastline SS brake lines for a 99-03 TL at AcuraFest in a raffle from HeelToe so i assume it should fit the 98-02 accord v6 as well since we all share so many parts.

paid a little more than usual though, most people seem to pay 300 or somewhere around there, i paid 370 shipped and rebuilt. i guess that higher cost is offset by my near free (paid $5 in tickets) SS lines i won at AcuraFest

wow you got a hell of a deal. even all the junkyards in my area wanted 150 each. auto parts stores cant order any because their vendors are out of stock. cheapest i could find was about 125 each with very high mileage, not rebuilt... just as is.

mine are rebuilt, have been media blasted inside so all the gunk is gone. and have new seals and dustboots and whatever else comes along with a rebuild kit. and the car they came from only had 28k on them.

how much were your rotors? are they new?

Yeah I'm waiting on parts to rebuild mine, the only reason I'm doing that is because I've heard that when you get the calipers powdercoated it would be best to rebuild them since you have to take them apart to get them powdercoated.

My rotors are new I got them for $221.97 shipped from rockauto.com there the Nissan 350z brembo slotted powerslot rotors

i think the heat of powdercoating ruins the seals/rubber in the caliper...thus the rebuild.

just one flaw in that theory though, you can get the brakes to a WAY HOTTER temp, then the baking process in powder coating will ever get them up to

What do you have to be doing to get them at those type of temps?

drive how i drive at times....

or just do a couple of hard stops in succession (especially when you are going over 100)

or the track will also get them that hot

but anyways you are only talking like 2-300 degrees F max for baking that powdercoating, then a couple of harder stops will finish baking them

new seals and stuff cost 5 bucks for each caliper. no biggie. will just have to read up on how to disassemble them and put them back together. shouldnt be much of an issue.

i did a google search and it seems the average baking temp for powdercoat is around 450F. so better safe than sorry, 10 bucks to replace the seals again is not much of an issue.

acura_dipset_tl, i just check rockauto and found the rotors for 91 a piece! awesome, with shipping my total came out to 205 for the rotors. thanks for the headsup, i wasnt aware that rockauto sold aftermarket parts, i thought they were just and oem parts type of company.

edit: just confirming you got:
CENTRIC Part # 12642076SR Power Slot - Slotted Rotor
Brembo Brakes; Front Right
and
CENTRIC Part # 12642076SL Power Slot - Slotted Rotor
Brembo Brakes; Front Left

i can still get them hotter then that...

but yeah you can't complain about $10 worth of seals especially if they are already apart

I payed 100. picked up for one and 75. + 15 shipping for the other caliper.

Oscar, are you going to do the powder coating, seals, & flushing the brake lines your self? If so, I'll help you out so I can get some hands on DIY on flushing & bleeding the brake lines.
I have not purchased the replacement nuts to install the Teins yet.

Mike, I took the calipers to a powdercoating place that a member referred me to, I'm actually on my way to pick them up now. The only bad thing its that there located in wardolf MD.
now rebuilding the caliper I will be doing that myself, just waiting on the parts to come in.
It's not that difficult to do the job, if you need help just let me know I'm sure we can work something out.

No problem man.
$5 a seal that's cheap, I was told to order the rebuild kit from acuraoemparts.com and it ran me about $55 for each side we'll see what happens as soon as they come in.

On a brighter note I just came back from the powdercoating place.

They did a very good job masking the letters.

They masked the area where the two pieces join, right?

Yeah they did mask the are where they join at.
I think the process is to paint the whole face of the caliper including the letters, then they sand the paint off the letters, that's what enables the letters to pop.

In a box for 4 months!
Not anymore!

Thanks JBlueCLS6 for the great deal! These Calipers where in mint condition when I got them. Wasn't really sure about the color at first but I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to have these on my car! Everybody does Red Calipers with Black cars, I had dreamed of Gloss Black, but when these showed up the blue was so sick! I just couldn't justify changing the color. (civicdrivr I promise I'm not trying to be like you... ok maybe the 3.6) lol. Reaction so far to the blue has been great, turning lots of heads!

Now for some wheels...

The title of this thread is TL wheels, so my search was on! I was about to pull the trigger on a set with crap tires in the Black Market in PA no less(4 hr ride).
Luckily my friend (who works at Acura btw) decided to upgrade his TL to VIP status with some baller 20's. So he sold me his stockies with super fresh Pirelli rubber on them. For only $50 more then the set in PA.!!! Unbelievable deal... Thanks Ralphie!

Out with the old, in with the new!!!

Install took only an hour and a half. We had to grind down the end of the mounting bracket studs so they would clear the wheel. Rotors are EBC 350z with the zinc plating, pads are Red stuff. Thanks go out to my boy Melvin for helping with the install and the much needed break. So after everything was all tightened up I hit the road!

I am loving this mod! Best upgrade I've made other than headers. I can't tell you what it feels like to go from bald tires and grinding brakes, to inch wider wheels with new rubber, and RL 4 Piston stopping power butterness! Feels like a whole new car. The brakes still smelled new when I first hit them hard. Bedded them in and I'm stopping on a dime right now. I got an extra set of front stainless brake lines if anyone needs em for cheap, they came with the BBK but I've had a set on for a few years now. (pm me).
Will post some more pics after a few more mods are done!

Nice job slick, mine should be on this weekend pending the arrival of the brake pads.
Btw will your s/s brake lines fit the 3g tl? Cause if so I might be interested in buying them.

Btw will your s/s brake lines fit the 3g tl? Cause if so I might be interested in buying them.
If they are the ones I gave him with the BBK, they are originally for an Accord 98-02. They are Russel Brand brake lines. Maybe cross reference them?

Quick Reply: RL Calipers Fit behind 05 TL 17" rims!
