Gotcha! Didnt know fastbrakes was giving rotor recomendations

What pad and rotor combo you goin with?

Iv had ebc in the past. Slotted rotors and red stuff pads. Had issues with the rotors right off the bat. Never got past the break in periord for the setup.
Ultimatly they sent me replacements but that may have contributed to the bad taste in my mouth. Never ended up putting on

Got the brakes installed today, if you get the fastbrakes brackets you have to get the 06-12 maxima rotors.

Thanks, I've got over 300 miles on the brakes and bedded them in. Now the brakes feel better than when I first put them on.

Looks great bro!! I see you opted to stay factory on the caliper color. Suits it well

Can i ask u a question/ small favor. Can you give me a measurement from your rotor face to the outside of the caliper!!??

Im trying to verify rim fitment without goin thru all the work only to find out i need spacers which i refuse to do. Not looking for opinion on spacers just not my flavor

So the rotor face to the ouside of the caliper. Maybe also from the rotor face to the backside/inside of the rim face?

So fastbrakes brzckets you had no issues huh?
Did you use spacers adapters anything of that sort or was it strictly bolt off old bolt on new?

I like seeing this thread come back to life!! My CLs is goin under a mini facelift /suspension/sway bar/paint/possibly taking OFF spoiler (any thought) and brakes would clinch the deal

i just tried to do this with my 2nd gen TL, bought the kit fom a FB group. The seller told me 05 350z rotors? the rotors are rubbing against the calipers and arent sitting properly. do i need to use maxima rotors ? i think the adapter is from fastbrakes but not sure. how many other adapter kits are made for this setup ?

edit....nevermind, went back and saw you had similar issue in post #670, im just not sure how old my kits are, gonna try maxima rotors now. Thanks!!

Is everyone just using a banjo bolt to attach the line to the caliper?

I posted this on TSX club but havent gotten any response, figured I'd ping this community..

I got a set of RL calipers, 12.8 350Z rotors, pads, and the FFC brackets from a guy I know in trade.

After installing the parts at his shop I drove home and took the wheels back off to re-bleed the system, it felt mushy.

I discovered that the brake lines to the calipers were lightly seeping.

I went and got new copper washers and after installing they were still seeping, I read that the factory banjo bolts for the TSX are too long and some people either bought new bolts or added another washer. With another washer, they still seep.

I also came across this post which is concerning, basically using the banjo bolts on these calipers isn't what they are designed for.

So I'd like to do a set up like this...
(The site that had this image didnt have the details about the brake lines)

Can anyone direct me as to what exact fitting that is between the caliper and brake line? I'd like to just use some rubber generic hoses if I could.

Thanks

It's hard to find images of the back of the caliper with the OEM lines but here is an example.

The inlet port on the caliper should be M10 x 1.0 as per the link below:

Thanks!

So maybe I could use this hose -- https://www.carid.com/big-end-perfor....html#features

on this adapter -- https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...asp?RecID=4191

I'm not sure the size of the fitting in the car that the other end of the hose mates up to, looks like maybe M10x1 by checking brake line replacement parts specs.

Or something like this if I could figure out the sizes and not bother with the adapter.

I'm not sure what size the other end of the hose is in the car.
Have you considered the piped OEM lines from the RL?

#1 ($43.07ea) or #6 & 7 on the link below. They are only $8.10 each and may sort your issue with one shot.

I'm not sure either of the size on the other end. The link below indicates a female M10 x 1.0:

I thought about trying to find RL lines but I'm not sure how they are mounted on the car, I'll have to dig and see what images I can come up with.
Thanks for the links, now I can find them quickly.

And the AN adapter I linked wouldn't work, AN is a standard size, wouldn't work on the metric.

Since I cant edit my posts here is what I've come up with. I'm not sure which route I'll go.

You need a 10 x 1.0mm male to 3AN male, then a 3AN male to 10 x 1.0mm female with a 3AN hose in between (each side female), unless I can find a hose like the one pictured that has 3AN on one side and a 10 x 1.0mm female on the other side.

That or use the RL hardware and try to bend it as needed.

Or use a shorter banjo bolt kit from Fastbrakes, which is supposed to be fine, but I'm still leery.

the piped RL oem lines fit directly to the CL knuckle...the little tin bracket lined up perfectly with the 2 holes pre-tapped on the CL knuckle for the stock brake hose.....I was pleasantly surprised when I put everything together and it matched up perfectly....although I am using the FFC brackets with the 350z rotors on mine...shouldn't make any difference on line placement....if you get the pipe, bracket and rubber flex with the calipers then you are covered.

Sorry to bump super old post... Can anyone confirm if RL calipers are interchangeable Left and Right side? I have a brand new one in my hands right now. With the exception of the bleeder pointing up/down, it looks symmetrical.

It's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure I originally installed them with the bleeder valve pointing down, before I learned they needed to be pointed up. Might be remembering wrong though, because again, been awhile.
Don't see why they couldn't be installed either way though. They're pretty much symmetrical; just two bolts holding them on.

Cool, was looking at this one. It has slight recessed impression on the opposite end of bleeder. Was thinking the same casting was used and just tapped for left or right.

Main reason I asked is the other one is backorder with no eta. If interchangeable, could order a second of the same side. Perhaps even tap the recessed spot, idk?

Could always just order some used ones and try your hand at painting, lol. Lesson learned: paint will go through masking tape.

Word... I do have black paint on the stock CL calipers. But, It's not nearly as nice or thick as this coating. Seems almost like plastidip. Plus it'd be nice to have a matching set. Fingers crossed on the other one getting back in stock.
