Rattles related to weather ?

Ok ... this is the THIRD time I've experienced the SAME rattle in the past YEAR that I've had my car. I've already taken it to the dealer TWICE for them to fix it, AND .. it keeps returning !

It seems that now that it has gotten COOL here in Philly, I get that damn rattle from the back window area. It's actually right at where the top of the back window meets the roof inside the car. Normally I hear it for the first 5-10 minutes after leaving my house in the morning, then it MIGHT disappear -- only to come back again when I LEAVE work to go home.

I've tried a few things but it's still there. Obviously the dealer has never fixed it the right way, but I haven't heard it ALL summer -- so I guess it's just a 'winter-time' rattle ... JEEEEEEZ !!!

Anyone else have this ?

hi dez,

I also have the same problem as you! It annoyed me from the start of my journey yesterday morning.

It seems to pop up randomly but only when I drive the car in conditions below 45 'F.

Anyone has a solution to this for us?

TIA.

anything that has volume and mass expand and contract with the change in temp. the colder it gets, the more contraction...the warmer, the more expansion. maybe due to the colder weather, things may have loosened up a bit. i think this may be the cause....the solution....i don't know.

Yo dez, another Philly guy, welcome. We are about to have a meet, look into it.
Yeah, I have rattles in the morning when its real cold, not sure if they go away when the car warms up cause I am in it long enough, but I am just so tired of going to the dealer for this little stuff, I just dont listen for them anymore.

Hey BigPimp !! Yeah .. I'm BACK in Philly now ... I was living in Jersey for a while -- I think my location still says South Jersey.

I see plenty of CL's on 95 everyday on my way to and from work -- I'm sure they gotta be some people that are on here !

I was actually on this board WAY BACK when -- as you can see from my member number -- it's pretty low ...

I always see the meets mentioned, but I only have a CL-P -- and most people have Type S's !! I'd feel so left out ! Plus, I haven't really modded it or anything since it's a lease LOL!

About those rattles though !! I don't think anything is loose -- just sounds like creaking/rubbing -- and it's SO DAMN ANNOYING !!

I get the same exact rattling sound on my TL-S... right where the upper portion of the back window meets the roof. If I reach back there and push up on the upper portion of the glass the rattle goes away. I thought it was related to the cool weather we were having a few weeks ago, but it's still there and it's back up to the mid eighties. If anyone has a solution to this please share it!

Same here! I was going to take it in this morning but the temp was around 40* and the rattle was gone. So I called them and said why bother giving up the car for the day if it's not there. As soon as it warmed up, it was back.
