I have and my cell with them too. Locked myself out during a morning workout. But within an hour TLC had a local locksmith there to help. He made a new key in the back of his truck, which only unlocks the door and starts the generator. I now tie that key to my shorts when I workout.

Oh man... that sucks...I hate that sloppy slim jim crap.. makes me cringe when I see that being done... I think if I ever have the door panels off I am installing a piece of sheet metal over that so they can't slim jim my shit..

our cars are un-slim-jim-able....there is a cover over the rods and actuator...unless you break that cover off...which would be almost impossible to do with a slim jim...it aint happening. He used the wedge tool which is a little pocke that u slide in the door crevice and pump w/ air to inflate pocket so the door opens slightly and then you can get a coat hanger inside to pop up the lock...

when mantis left his keys in his car the roadside assistance guy used a wedge between the window and door. And then only used a metal hook kinda thing that went under the window and came back up inside and hooked onto the lock and pulled it up.

I locked myself out of my TL and opened it up by using a coat hanger to pull up on the lock. It took a while of fiddling with it but it really isn't that hard. Just watch out so that you don't rip your door moulding.

I got locked out once athe RMV when i was swapping my vanity plates, so the keys were locked in the trunk and the doors were locked too. Called up TLC, guy came and actually had a hard time wedging the door open and using a small metal rod and with hook thingy at the end to fish the lock knob. He ended up messing up my chrome door molding, had to get it replaced outta my own pocket, sucked donkey balls, but lesson learned.

This is the best way to unlock this car

No one here has said it but for people in 2019 with a TL.. The hands down best way to unlock it for free is the shoelace method. I tried it with my 05 and it worked in 10 minutes.
*Take a shoelace
*tie a slipknot in the middle of the lace
*stick the shoelace behind the door
*use a flossing motion to get the slipknot over the lock
*pull both ends to tighten the slipknot and pull upwards to unlock to car

There are plenty of YouTube videos showing the procedure. I used a coat hanger to stick the lace in past the weather stripping. And a screwdriver with a rag to gently pry the door to get the lace in. One it was in no more prying was needed.

If you accidentally tighten the slipknot early or ruin the knot you can re-tie it without pulling the lace out of the door..

Cheers.
