Question for thoes that have tried to fix the saggy exhaust

Ok UPS is going to be bringing my HKS exhaust today and I was wondering this.

My passenger side has the sagging problem and I don't want the new exhaust to look funny sagging like that. How did you fix that problem??? I seem to remember someone using one of those screw down hose clamp things around the rubber hanger to lift up the exhaust. Is this right and if so are there any drawbacks to not having the exhaust move as freely as it does just hanging there??

Thanks everyone

go find ShoofinTL's email address, from the TL-forum, I believe his fix was using "additional exhaust hangers with the stock ones, and it tucks perfectly, I paypaled him 6 dollars and he sent me two of these hangers that he was able to find in his local shop, he had pictures and Im sure he has some left over that he can get for you...

or save yourself some time and energy and take it to the muffler shop and have them install it. that way you can have them tweak it however you like. it only cost me 20 bucks. worth it for me. took 5 minutes for them to install. no sag.

I used hose clamps to raise my mufflers. You can see the pics here. It is really easy to do once you have selected the right size hose clamp. You just place the hose clamp over the existing rubber hangers and tighten them down until your mufler is raised how you want it.

Pics of the materials I used can be found here:

I too had the same problem with the uneven exhaust.
First I tried the SidVicious method (hose clamp) it worked out perfect.
Then I tried ShooftheG's method (rubber hangers) it did improve the uneveness however there is a slight difference (1/8 inch).
It depends on how uneven both sides are to begin with.
I'm considering putting the hose clamp back on cause you can adjust and get the exact eveness.
There are no drawbacks with either methods.
Hope this helps.

Drive your CL to the hardware store and buy some hose clamps. Then go out to the parking lot and try to fit them over the rubber hangers. They should just barely fit over the existing hangers. If they are the wrong size, go back in and exchange them. That is what I did after the first set didn't raise my mufflers enough.
