yea you have to take the bumper off and get to the headlight screws. the ballast is bolted onto the bottom of the headlight

Thanks. You think an aftermarket ballast will mount with no problems once I remove the OEM ballast? Where would you suggest I buy one from? I read somewhere to go ahead and replace both headlights at the same time. Also, a search on ebay shows the ballast going for $160! I can't afford that.

nah the aftermarket ballasts wont bolt up to the headlights. If you posted up like 2 weeks ago I had both my old ballasts for sale but they sold. since I retrofitted projectors I closed up the hole for the ballast in the headlight and mounted the ballast elsewhere. keep an eye on the black market here stock ballasts show up now and then.

I tried but but i only have my iphone camera which takes crappy nighttime photos, they're wayyyyyyy better than stock. im illuminating 5 lanes of traffic on the highway wide, and I adjusted the height as close to what new cars with projectors would have now too. I'm pretty happy with it

The Mini-H1s will have an output similar to this:

After living with them for about 6 months, they're not bad for what they are, but there are much better OEM solutions.
