Popping sound from right rear wheel well
Hi all,
My 2nd gen is fast approaching 7 years old (in about 3.5 weeks time). I have 53K miles on it.
Recently I've been hearing a popping sound coming from the right rear wheel well after I come to a stop. It doesn't do it all of the time and I don't feel any vibrations or jolts when it does this. I also heard it once while I was slowing down -- I was probably down to about 5mph at the point I heard it.
The other day I got out of my car and about 10 seconds later I heard the pop, this time from the outside. It was loud - though I park in a cement garage so that tends to echo noise a bit.
Any thoughts on what this could be?
Thanks,
RM

check your suspension....it might be going bad....if its something in the rear wheel well it would be something towards suspension...are you still on stock suspension???

Yes, it is the stock suspension. It was checked two years ago for something else and I was told my suspension is in fantastic shape. Of course, that's two years ago.
Question is - do I continue to ride the car until it just fails (or pops every two seconds)?

Just an off the top thought...
It sounds like your emergency brake needs adjustment at the rear of the car.
Check both sides...

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. I unfortunately have no access to work on my own car (which stinks) so I will have to pay someone to do it.
Next time I go to Acura I will talk to them about the noise.
Thanks,
RM

Could be a bad CV joint, which is pretty common with FWD and AWD vehicles. Does it "pop" when you make sharp left or right-hand turns or go over speed bumps? If this is the case, the part isn't too expensive and it's reasonbly simple to DIY if you can turn your own wrenches.
Quick test, find an empty parking lot and drive it in a tight circle. Hear the clicking? Mos def a worn constant velocity (CV) joint.
