Lightbulb Pontiac Bonneville SSEi Supercharger

Does anyone know if anyone has put the supercharged from the Bonneville SSEi on their J series?? Or if anyone makes an adapter for it. I have been debating F/I but don't wanna fish out so much money for a comptech and don't wanna deal with a turbo and there's plenty of Bonneville parts near me. Any info on it would be great!

Edit: Also, if anyone knows a (somewhat cheap) way to tune for a SC that would be nice... I don't exactly wanna pay $1000+ dollars just to run maybe 6-8 lbs of boost...

Yeah idrc if I can't do much with it. I plan on doing a 3.5 build with Type S heads and I just wanna make a healthy 350, as long as the car starts and moves reliably then I'm happy. I'm also gonna try the Bee*r rev limiter as a type of launch control if that doesn't already have it. Thanks a lot for the info! Also did you have any hood clearance issues with the SC?

If I had $1 for every teenager that planned to custom supercharge/turbo their vehicle, I'd be a multimillionaire. While I'm not saying you won't go through with it, should you do so, you'll be about 1 in 1000000 that do.

I'm not saying I'm 100% definitely gonna do it. It was just a thought I had that I wanted to see if it was true in case I do go through with it

You're saying two things. One one hand you start things saying you don't want to put in the money to go with the Comptech kit or a custom turbo. But then you talk about wanting reliability and looking to go 3.5L.

So you'll spare the expense to go 3.5L but not to do the FI right. Strange.

You want reliability but won't spend the money on the Comptech kit which is the way you're going to get reliability. You're certainly not going to get it with a pieced together (and custom) SSEi supercharger and even a custom turbo setup is going to have everyday reliability issues that'll cost money to iron out.

You aren't going to get reliable 350WHP without a decent deal of expense.

The thing you're missing here is the other part I said where I have immediate access to these things I'm speaking of. There are TONS of Acura/Honda parts around me and a 3.5 build is maybe 1000 bucks or so, all I would need there is the j35a3 bottom end and a couple of new head gaskets and maybe change my timing belts. Same thing with the SC.... I can go on to craigslist right now and find at least 2 or 3 that are less than 200 bucks for just the SC and another 400 bucks for the adapter.. Look around at the other parts I can have people make for me and its maybe 1000-1500 bucks for it to be installed and ready to be tuned, and I have plenty of sources around me who can help and/or supply me with necessary parts to finish. Tuning it is my ONLY issue which I understand is a big one and factors the reliability and if I do happen to go FI it will not be skipped out on. All i asked if it COULD work and that it's a possibility.

I get what you're saying though, if i want that power and want it reliably I'm gonna have to put out, which if I can get it together and running with a good tune for 2k or so then I would be happy. But those comptech kits that START at like 2k-2600 bucks is just too much for my budget which is why I'm even looking at the M90 in the first place!

A quick GIS of "acura cl m90" will give you an idea of how far it sticks out.

So i've been looking a little bit more into this. I'm thinking of using an AEM FIC 6, porting the blower a little and running a stock pulley. How much boost are you pushing and how much do you make at the wheels, if you know?

Ahh okay. I thought stock was closer to 7.5 or so, I might run about the same size pulley as you, either that or slightly smaller to hit 9 or 10 psi

What are you using for tuning? Or are you good with the stock tune and some good gas? I also plan on getting a meth injection kit at some point for extra security for maybe 350 wheel or so if possible

Yeah I got a guy near me selling it for only 5 bucks a gallon... Definitely gonna take advantage of that, and yeah I know the FIC can be a decent bit limited but hopefully I will be good for up to maybe 400ish...?
