Nsx na2 brakes on cls6

So maybe 9 months ago i went to legend type II calipers and they're a great upgrade but they overheat quicker and the NSX ones just look cool. Here's my progress painting them prior to installation.....im wondering will the nsx brackets work since I painted them In hopes they would....rotors are identical except the hat is taller on the cls so I'll post more info on that and more pix as I install.....(both 28mm thick on 11.8in rotors). Been very busy lately.

Not sure why your Legend calipers were 'overheating'; however, their two pistons are slightly larger, milimeterm wise, than the NSX calipers. Other than that and the 'cool' factor of the NSX moniker on the caliper I don't think there is much difference. I'm pretty sure the CL caliper brackets can be used with the NSX ones just like the Legends.

Yall must have misunderstood....i know for a fact the calipers will bolt right up to my cl brackets and I can go...remember I did this once with legend type II calipers.....im hoping the cl bracket is interchangeable with the nsx ones since I painted the nsx ones and don't want downtime with the car while I paint cl brackets.

also when I did the legend upgrade I swapped left for ri
ght and right for left so the bleeder wouldn't be upside down (didn't use the block of wood method) so the trailing larger 43mm piston is making contact first when it should be the smaller piston. I notice slight uneven pad wear. Also the brakes don't overheat unless I track the car or drive super hard on backroads working the hell out of the brakes.....they fade quickly....im going to better pads this time too and maybe a higher temp brake fluid. I did read on alot of forums that the nsx brakes with their cooling vanes are less susceptible to brake fade or overheating.

main reason Im doing this too is because Amazon screwed up and sold me the right reman nsx caliper for 22 dollars.....i just had to wait 3 months for the front left due to backorder (I only have $220 In these brakes....cant beat that IMO)

That will be interesting to see if the NSX brackets bolt up to the CL-S knuckle.

I don't recall anyone ever trying that out. If you look at the parts diagrams on the acura part websites, they don't sell the brackets separately (CL; Legend; or NSX; they are included with the caliper as a set; therefore, it's difficult to compare part numbers, at least)

Good Luck!

The "CL-S" knuckle is no more different than any other '99-'-03 TL knuckle of '98-'02 Accord knuckle. The caliper mounting pattern is also the same as it is on any ITR, '90-'97 Accord, '92-'94 Vigor, '95-'98 2.5TL and '97-'99 CL. Many people have put NSX calipers on plenty of those cars. There just aren't that many people who own and modify CLs in order for this to have ever been popular here.

Jonathan Hill, did you get the NSX brackets, shown in your first picture, to fit on the CL-S Knuckle?

yes the nsx and cl brackets are the same. The nsx ones fit perfect but I ended up cleaning and painting the cl brackets and selling the nsx ones to an nsx owner trying to go from na1 to na2 who wanted new brackets. I DID however run the nsx brackets for a few weeks so this isn't just a visual observation.
