Newby

Been on and off looking at CL Type S for some time. Drove a new one back in the day, and bought a Mustang instead. (dumb move). Saw one for sale close by, went to look. CEL, SRS lights on, loud ps pump, the list goes on. Passed on it, but probably shouldn't have. Now I want one badly. Found one I'm going to look at once I get back from this trip, and will probably buy. I'm determined to not let another one slip through my fingers. Mod list will be short, since it will be my daily. Some sort of exhaust will probably be enough to keep me going for a while. I just hope the car is still available when I return.

It was an Agean Blue with Nav 6 speed, but I pulled a Carfax, and it's got a salvage title. Would have been nice to know before I got my hopes up. All is not lost,, just the search goes on.

Found the one. Finally.. It's Nighthawk Black, without Nav.. (no big deal). and of course the 6 speed Manual Trans. I fly down next Friday, pick it up Saturday and proceed to drive 18 hours home. Should be a nice ride. Minor issues are a cracked front bumper, baked paint, and the driver outside door handle is broken but still sort of works. Cheap enough of a fix. Now to keep myself together for another week..

at the Mustang..

Congrats though, you'll have a blast driving back. I remember my first cruise home when I bought my CLS6, it was suppose to be over a 2 hour drive and let's just say that I didn't touch anywhere near 2 hours

I have all kinds of parts in my parts basket, just waiting to get the car back before I do the check out. Doing the timing belt when I get it home, since I don't know when it's been done.Rather be safe than stranded. four more days til I fly down.......

Congratulations! I am amazed that more people haven't caught on to these cars.

Given that it's 2017, and that navigation was designed in 1998, you're better off without it. You would use your phone more, anyway.

Truth. Well,, I finally made it home. Not uneventful. I am trying to remember all that happened, as I prepare to write a detailed trip report. To do this requires either no brains (check) or brass nutz (I guess also check). Look for the story in the newby section if you care to share in my trip. Should be up in the next day or two.
