Lurker Turned Poster
Hi everyone. I have been lurking the last two weeks. Just bought a used "Certified" 2003 CLS, 6 speed Navi with 22.6K miles on it already. Paid $26K even for it, so I think I did pretty good. Cars are always high here in the Northwest for some reason.
I stopped by the Honda dealer yesterday to buy a thermost for my Prelude before I sell it. First look at an Accord Coupe EX 6 speed. I am glad I bought the CL, Type S. I have to agree with the Fugly comments.

trying to get a lil V-I
color? Any pics?
I'll have to agree...price does seem a little high, but it's "certified" right?
What's your warranty? Did they extend it for you because it is certified?

Up here, they still try to sell 2001's for 21-24K, so I feel I did good. Plus it is a 6 sp Navi with spoiler.
Warranty is now (Certified) 62K Bumper to bumper and 100K powertrain.

Congrats, I bought a 'Certified' 03 6 speed 2 weeks ago too.
Mine had 3k miles, they added in a year warranty on top of the 4 year one. I see the dealer has another used 03 with 1500 miles now. These are not demo cars. 22k miles on an 03 is amazing, the market up there must be tight. I got mine for $27 total.
Don't know why 03s are coming up used but I'm very happy with my deal, but still hate dealing with the Acura dealer. Maybe it's the used car reps, liars and morons IMO. I usually buy used so I have to deal with them.
Enjoy your 6 speed, they're fun to drive.

Thanks 1-6Speed.
Mine was an Acura Executive car that apparently ran up and down I-5 a lot That was the story the dealer told me and it was confirmed when I talked to Acura on their 800 number trying to get my Navi Code.

Yea. that's one of the lies the sales rep told me too. I demanded a Car fax and it showed it wasn't a 'Honda exec' car at all, it was a repossession from an original owner purchase.
These salesmen seem to say whatever they think you want to hear and what will sell the car. They assume a buyer would rather have a company car, but I prefer a one owner car so I didn't care about that, but I hate that they say anything hoping it's what you want to hear.
Just one of the many lies or idiot statements these guys made, they don't know anything about the car, just want to sell.
They advertised an 03 blk/blk with Navi in the paper for sale. I looked at it when I was there getting my car back from some tweaks and it was a black/tan, non-Navi. They don't even know what they are selling.
If I listed all the lies and half-truths these guys spewed it would take a lot of bandwidth. They are either incompetent or stupid, but I demanded everything in writing.

Well if someone told you a year ago that you could get a 6 speed with Navi and spoiler for 26K they wouldn't believe it. I think you did great. Good luck and welcome

Congrats! Is there an actual "executive" category for used cars? What the heck is that all about? Even if a car is freeway driven in the Seattle area that still means lots of stop and go traffic -maybe as much as side streets. Anyway, the 2003 models are the best ones out there in terms of noise and refinement so you have a great car.

Thanks Everyone
It is kind of cool. I have been travelling quite a bit in my job lately and consequetially driving a lot of new rental cars. I never minded getting back in my Prelude. It has really been a good car with decent stop light to stop light performance.
Now I can't stand driving it. The CL is so awesome to drive. Reminds me of when I graduated college and went out and bought a brand new 1986 IROC Camaro, only the CL is quicker and a hell of a lot nicer.
