Loose interior arm rest trim

Door arm rest trim has loosened from underneath window control switches. In other words there is a widening gap and foam is visible. I've tried pushing back in but the trim doesn't "catch".

Also, I noticed small crack in door panel at top rear most area.

Anybody else had these problems and what is the fix? I have 2001 and it's out of warranty.

The rattles have been bad enough. Now this. I thought $30,000 for a Honda product bought some quality!

I had that problem, but car was still under warranty (it was about 1 year old) and they replaced it, no problem.

Not sure if there is anything that can be fixed if the foam is ripped.

I've had this problem, thought it was from my lazy arm...no fix, eh? other than melting it back together as previously suggested?

My car has 49,750mi on it

Took my car to the dealer for it yesterday.

They have a new panel on order and will install it for me next week all under warranty.

If you are still under warranty they will fix it free of charge.

willdogs or beegee....any chance you have a pic of this? mine is coming apart but not that much...not enough to justify taking it to the dealer I don't think. just want to see if yours is worse than mine.

i'll see if I can get a pic for you, but mine wasn't that bad at all. It was coming out just a bit but i figured the worst that the dealer would tell me is that they can't do anything about it. Its worth a shot IMO.

BTW, after I took it to the dealer and they told me they have to order the part, I went to pick up my car and it looked a bunch worse than when I brought it in. Looks like they pulled it out much more than it was! Either they were looking for something, or they wanted to make sure acura accepted the part as a warranty return. Who knows.

See what you mean. mine is separating but foam not yet visible. Car's off warranty. Super.

Would there be any way to shoot some glue in there or would it just f' up the controls?

I just had mine replaced, like someone said before if you car is still covered under warrenty they will fix it for free. make sure they order the right part, the piece you need comes by itself. My dealer ordered the whole interior door skin and it came with everything except the piece i needed, they had to order in seperately
