Just wondering...I have a JL 10W7 and the display shakes a little when the bass hits hard...does this happen to anyone else...if the bass doesn't hit hard...the display is crystal clear...

Come on Nicky, you know the answer to this....anything in your car asking for surges of a voltage will effect everything else. Large bass quantities are sucking the juice from your amp and thusly sucking juice form every electronic equipment in that line-including your monitor.

The only reason I can see it is when a CD is playing its just a solid blue screen...when a DVD or the radio is on...there is a full screen you can't tell.

i had that problem too... i really noticed it at night becaue of the night mode for the navi. i found that just using the brighter day setting made it less noticable.
im really anal and would rather deal with the brightness than the vibration or electrical draw (which ever it is?)on the navi.

A cap makes it so the amp keeps its voltage constant....It charges...then when there is a big draw...the cap give the amp the power it needs to maintain its power needs!

I've got a cap...1.5 farads. I went to the shop today to drop my friends car off and there were 2 Pioneer regional sales reps there and I asked them why the screen does this...they said it happens because the sub amp puts a huge load on the alternator when the bass hits...we went to my car and disconnected the sub amp and sure enough...it stopped. I may put a small second battery in or an Optima battery....after I get a job!

Nicky Pass, How do you rate the headunit. On a scale of 1-10. Now, on a scale of 1-10, how do you rate the features that any other headunit does't have(ie. dvd funtions, screen use, obivousy you can't watch the screen while you drive.) I like mine, but i though i would use it more. I love the touch screen. but, you can only do some much when your driving. When i'm driving and playing a movie, i have to put the screen in and let them use the visor tv to keep my eyes on the road. Do you expericene the same thing?

The features are amazing...I'm still figuring this thing out!!! The picture is crystal clear and the sound qualiy and sound control is awesome. I thought about a touch screen...but with my luck I'd break it Out of 10...I'd give it and 8.5.
P.S. I can watch it while I drive
