to jet hot or not to jet hot?

hey guys, I just picked up a set of used comptech headers off the board from idlav67 (very cool guy btw) and I was wondering if it would be a good idea to send them to jet hot to get them coated inside and out with sterling silver? I did a search and kinda came out even on good/neutral/bad positions on this. Theres some rust on the mounting brackets and a scratch/minor dent on the downpipe and II was wondering if there was anyway I could either clean up and polish the exhaust up myself and maybe have a shop get rid of that dent, or if I should just send it to jet hot. I know this was a long post guys...ahah but any opinions would be great. Thanks

I got mine Jet Hot coated. They're already done and should be here early this week.

The thing with Jet Hot is that it lasts forever, no discoloration and a lifetime warranty against rusting.

I'll post some pictures ASAP, when I receive them.

IMHO, the process is worth every cent. Being in the military, we have several pieces of equipment that are coated by Jet Hot, if they can withstand the extremes of Iraq sand and heat and Afghanistan's blistering cold, they have my vote.

was the $268 including shipping? Also, is a minor dent on the bottom of the downpipe any big of a deal...performance wise? I did a search and pretty much everyone was saying that it doesn't matter at all.

Personally I wouldnt risk coating it on the inside. In theory it would be better...but the slight benefits of it coated vs the risk of it peeling and loosing HP due to rough edges isn't worth it IMO. I've seen more than 1 example of jethot coated header peeling from the inside.

Try to do a search in Accord forums.

Hey niteqwill, just wondering since you're in irvine, would you be interested in installing mugen cooling mods for me whenever I finally get around to buying them? Let me know if you would, and how much you'd want to do it. Thanks =)

If you can get it for cheap like NiteQwill did it's worth it. If not, then well, it's not worth it. Your not really going to get a perforemance boost. Maybe 1-2HP if that. It's more for longetivity.

Is there a noticeable difference in temperature under the hood between stainless headers and stock manifold?
